Ok, this site is normally decent, but they were slacking the last time we ordered from here & way more on this time.
I visited here about 2 weeks ago with a website order which said to pick up @ 7:49 PM, which was 5 minutes after the order was placed. Now sideline to this, we ordered this same way before online with the same exactly time lapse mentioned before it was to be ready (I ordered the spicy leg/thigh combo meal), so I'm like, ok I'm leaving now since I'm 15 minutes away & they'll be done by the time I get there. I pull up & they had issues with the spicy not being ready so I had to wait until it was done, which was about 15 more minutes. Luckily, I had some videos on my phone to keep me busy. That was the time before this visit...
Fast forward back to this visit & I'm thinking this is redemption for them...... Ennnnnt! Wrong! I pulled up after the 15 minute ride & there was no immediate acknowledgement of me standing at the pickup counter. I was there for about 10 minutes, then the manager (who was working hard) asks what I needed & I mentioned my pickup order. She tried to keep a stoic face but she was stressed. There was 1 drive thru lady, 2 visible back workers, & 1 visibly perturbed (mean face) girl that was expediting alongside the manager (you can tell the manager wanted to be elsewhere handling other things that she needed to, but she was helping the mean face girl expedite because a lot of people were waiting). There was a time during my wait that the expediting left from the expedite area to move some chairs around in the small dining area just to get away from the back. She looked like she didn't want to be there honestly, but she did eventually go back. The manager was asking her to make a chicken sandwich at one point & was like "Can you please? I can make it if you don't want to" & the girl didn't even answer but did go make the sandwich. My inner thoughts were like 'this girl need to go home. I would've probably sent her home', but I know they were in the midst of their dinner rush & they needed whatever help they could get.
Now my meal was for the spicy leg/thigh combo again & some extras, & once again, they didn't have spicy chicken. They mentioned this after 20 minutes of me waiting, so I'm like 'when they asked how they could help me & I stated my order for pickup, why didn't anyone tell me that then?'. The manager then says it's going to be around 15 - 20 minutes for spicy chicken, which means 40 total minutes by that time in, if she was accurate. I said I'll take the original. Within about 8 minutes I got my meal & I told the manager to hang in there & left.
When I got home & had the original recipe chicken, it lacked any salt or pepper at all. I had to grab my Frank's hot sauce to bring it to any semblance of life.
If it weren't for the manager's effort that night, I would've given 0 stars if I could. They need to do better overall. Perhaps the extra personnel help (& even better current personnel) that they need could turn this around......
Read moreThis was indefinitely the most terrible experience at a Churches Chicken I have ever had. So many things were unacceptable I hardly know where to start. I stayed in the drive thru for roughly about 19 mins before even making it to the window to order, strike 1. The female drive thru attendant was extremely rude and unknowledgeable of the menu items i.e. (sides and specials), strike 2. Me myself speaking as an individual that works with every type of customer you could think of on a day to day basis, this young lady should seriously consider a change in career field. Ms. Lady had absolutely horrific customer service representation and in my opinion should be given 1 of 2 options, A). be required take customer/consumer etiquette classes dependant on her performance or B). a resignation. I can't believe she yelled at me, and told me to pull up and my order would be brought out to the car when I calmly stated that I couldn't hear her through the revolving window, strike 3. After that slew of disheartening issues I had to wait almost another 15 mins to get my order strike 4. The icing on the cake and to add insult to injury, by the time I did finally receive my order it was cold like it had come out the grease the moment she yelled at me to pull forward 15 mins prior to my order being taken, strikes 5,6,7,8,9, through 50. I will never ever as long as I should reside in Macon, Georgia spend my hard earned money at the Church's Chicken on Pio Nono Ave nor suggest them to anyone else. I used to hold Church's to a higher standard than that but, unfortunately I was sadly mistaken. SMDH what a great waste of time and money. Great Job Churches...
Read moreWhat a mess. The owner of this franchise needs to assess who they allow to work here, because the current staff will lose you business and money. My first time ever in Macon, and my first time at this Church's, and we're greeted with a RUDE attitude at the drive through. The short lady with glasses in particular (working the morning of 8-24-2024). She was pushy, mean, impatient, and all around a nasty person. When we pulled up to the window, she sent us to a parking space to wait for our food to be brought up. We were the only car in the line, and only one customer was in the store. In the 10-15 minutes we waited for one chicken wrap and one sandwich with 2 small sides, I saw another car pull up, walk in, and they were served their food right away. The whole crew was standing around up front, and finally I see a lady that seemed to be in a managing position pointing at us as if we had been forgotten. I left the car, walked inside and the short lady with glasses started making excuses right away that they were waiting on something to cook. The manager lady heard her and corrected her, telling her the cooking times of our items, and telling everyone to stop standing around up front not doing anything, which is why we weren't getting our food on time. I thanked the manager for stepping up, then told her the short lady's attitude was what is wrong with that place. The short lady couldn't muster any courage to defend her attitude, so I finally got my food from the manager and left after about 20 minutes of being there. The food was subpar. Mayo seemed old and separated, and the okra was about 200 degrees too hot....
