Ole Times Country Buffet — Restaurant in Macon

Hello everyone! Im writting this review to inform everyone of my experience with Ole time country buffet here in Macon Ga ( Eisenhower prkwy ). Today 7/25/2020 we had dinner there with family, the service was okay, and the food sub-par but worth it for the price. It was actually a pleasant experience until we left and seen our bank statement and the discrepancy between the bill and the charge to the bank. No biggie though, I will just give them and the bank a call, and get this taken care of real fast. I call the bank and they inform me of the situation, and told me that additional funds have been taken, and to call and inform the restaurant, to which I did as soon a got home.

I get home and proceed to call, very nice girl answers phone, Ole times, how may I help you? I explain the situation, she said oh, that's not good, let me get the manager becaCordialuse that wouldn't happen unless we ( Ole times ) physically charged you that to your card, I don't believe this is a mistake and ill get the manager right now. Awesome sauce!!

So, after 3-5 minutes, the manager comes on and has an attitude straight from the get go, now mind you I've been completely Cordial this entire conversation. Its starts out with her asking me questions with a nasty tone of voice, to which I answered all of them politely. She then proceeds to basically tell me im an idiot and that I have no clue what im talking about, and that this is on my banks behalf. Ah, okay, except when I seen the discrepancy, I called the bank first to verify the charge and amount and that i had been informed by the bank that the amount was more than the receipt showed, and again she proceeds to speak with me in a nasty tone telling me it was the banks fault and that I have no clue what im talking about.

So, finally, I asked her what the problem was? And Why she felt the need to be so rude to a customer and talk down to them and treat them as if they're beneath her. Needless to say her response was belligerent and at that point she got a piece of my mind that she fully deserved.

This whole conversation was complete nonsense and should have been handled with respect for the customer and restaurant, but Ole times obviously doesn't value their customers or their business. In my opinion, Ole times should be ashamed of the people they have repersenting the Macon establishment, and should look for more suitable replacements who show respect and are customer service oriented.

I will be filing a complaint with corporate Monday morning and they've definitely lost a customer for life. Sucks for us and them, seeing Ive spent a little over 500 there in the past two weeks, and we eat there all the time because its easy to please all the kids. Oh well, it...

So this week my travels take me to the heart of the South, Georgia. Let me start off that this particular restaurant, I didn't really care for any of the food. But why did I give them 5 stars? Normally when I don't like something, it tastes terrible or its cold. This place has the perfect seasoning on all their food. It wasn't at all what I expected. Yes, its listed as a southern food restaurant. So is ponderosa. This was real authentic southern foods, ribs, sausage, greens, some orange stuff that i have no idea, catfish, fried chicken, corn on the cob, etc. It goes on and on. The spaghetti to me tasted like goulash. I don't like goulash at all as I grew up eating it a lot and ended up hating the stuff. As I looked around, people all around me were enjoying their food and would come back with piles. That's when I realized, I'm just a northern dude in the south. Our flavors are different. I can't put that against them. The service was like that of a chinese place. You blink and your discarded plates disappeared and drinks were filled. Dude! If they had some foods from up north, I just know it'd be delicious. The garlic bbq mini chicken wings were good but my gosh, they are TINY! My 12 year olds thumb is bigger than them. But that's ok. If you like southern food, this is definitely the place to be. As for me, not so much, I just wish I could have enjoyed it like everyone else around me clearly was. But, I'm still rating a 5 based on the flavors being well done.

Oh, and for $12.49¿??? DUDE! Get here and support this place!

We have eaten at this buffet for years ! Russell parkway ..... warner robins Sign outside said Seafood buffet and welcomed a new chef. we now call it Old times forgotten. For a Saturday night seafood buffet, all they has was small fried shrimp, fried catfish chunks & fried cod ! So called steak was floating in beef broth cooked well done. Ribs were Just OK. all 5 BQ sauce bottles dirty, greasy and so sticky. this was at 5:30pm! ( start of busy time) Salad bar used to have fresh fruit. it was all canned. Black olives tasted sour. Carrot salad was chunky instead of shredded and just didn’t taste the same. They used to have really great meats and shrimp cooked many ways... etc. the service was bare minimum without friendliness and zero smiles. The only thing that tasted good to me was the lemon pepper fried chicken wings. the bathroom was disgusting. If I had gone in there before eating, would not have eaten there! mold and mildew and black all around the edges of floors and bottom walls. wood falling off rotting wood, filthy sink edges.... it seems management is not managing and they are not putting out better food as they used to and not putting money back into building maintainence.
