I needed a crimper to bend the end of a pipe to fit it into another pipe the same size. I had no idea what the name of that tool was or where in the store to find it. I asked a man who works in the store. He had no patience and evaded me telling me to get a tube-bending machine of some sort. I told him I needed to bend the end of a tube to fit it into another tube the same size. He was rude from the beginning and showed me how they don't have anything like that. Immediately, he walked out on me. His tone was disrespectful. I felt like he thought I was an ignorant idiot. I left the store angry. I went to the Home Depot. A nice young lady took care of me. She had no idea what I was talking about. She asked a young man. He didn't know either. They asked another one until a young lady figured out it was called a crimper. She found it on her phone and escorted me to the aisle where it was. They had one left and I purchased it. Now, I know why I end up buying at Home Depot so much more than in other stores. I have no idea whether Harbor Freight tools had the tool I needed. However, I should not have left the store feeling that I was treated...

If you ask where something is located, they simply tell you what isle. Well, it would be nice if they actually helped you find your item. I always have to spend a lot of time in the store. 12/31/2020: Upgraded to 4 stars because you have a 90 day return window even on power tools; so even if you make a bad choice, you are covered. Some folks like the 1 year warranty trick (yes, you pay extra but you can grab a new tool every year.) Most importantly, there are some things that are just unbelievably good bargains especially if you have coupons. Download the app and screen shot some coupons or try one of the " H Freight Coupon" apps. Be sure to find a 20% off super coupon! But... in store customer service is truly horrible when it comes to helping you find items and being knowledgeable about the products. And of course, don't go in for a great bargain and go hog wild buying stuff...
Read moreI’m not sure if it was the color of my skin, the deep conversation the managers were having, or the cashier being distracted on her phone, but the customer service I received was terrible. I stood at the entrance and asked where a particular item was. The cashier acted as if she didn’t know and made no effort to assist, while the managers completely ignored me — they paused for a moment to listen but then continued their conversation. I decided to browse the store on my own to find the item.
Thankfully, a young male employee was very friendly and knowledgeable; he went out of his way to show me exactly where the item was. However, as I was leaving the store, the managers and cashier were still in the same spot and didn’t even acknowledge me or say, ‘Have a good day.’ Instead, the female manager made sure to give me a nasty look on my way out. I’ve never felt so disrespected or disappointed in my life. Diversity on the front end may assist...
