Salvatore's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Macungie

I was really disappointed with Sal's. I remember going as a kid and always liking it, so when I had to work nearby for the day I figured I'd order lunch from them. Their menu on the website has a 12" "Gourmet White Pizza" listed for $8.95. The 16" is only $11.95. After placing an order by phone and ordering the gourmet white pizza, 12", add tomatoes (and repeating it back to the man on the phone to be sure it was correct), I arrive to be given a 14" white pizza without most of the "gourmet white pizza" toppings/ingredients and told I'm being charged $14.95 for it. When I pointed out that it was incorrect, the man behind the counter just kind of laughed and said that a 14" pizza is not $9. I reiterated that I had ordered a 12" pizza and he and the other employee just kind of shrugged and said sorry. There was not attempt made to rectify the mistake or the false advertising, and I was not told on the phone when I placed the order that I would be charged nearly 50% more than the listed price. I paid and left because I didn't want to continue disputing the employee who obviously didn't care, and because I had to get back to the office.

I am very sad to wright this review. This use to be a family favorite of ours, but over the past year they have just gone too far downhill. Last night we gave them a 2nd chance to win our business back and I am very sad to say we will not be ordering them again. We placed an order for a large cheese stake stromboli, 2 orders of mozzarella sticks, and a medium chicken cheese steak sandwich. We placed our order at 4:30pm for delivery. We understood that it was a weekend and could be a busy time for them, so we planned ahead and ordered early. We were told that our food would be delivered around 5:30pm. At 6pm I called them trying to see where our food was. The person on the phone was very rude and obnoxious about our situation, almost as we where a bother to him to ask where our food was. Finally, I was told that our food had already left with the delivery driver and should be there soon. Our food eventually showed up around 6:30pm. As everyone was starving, we all dug into the food only to discover that the stromboli was chard black on the bottom. the mozzarella sticks where ICE cold and tased stale. Ordered a pizza online using Chow Now and the "eta" given for delivery was 6:55pm. Given that it's a Sunday night and football season, we gave them the benefit of the doubt for the delay in delivery. I called around 7:15pm and was told that the ticket for my order was not there and that "it should be delivered by the time we hang up" said the person who answered. Called at 7:40pm and was told that the ticket for our order had burned out (ticket was not readable). I asked about a refund and he said that the pizza was ready and could be delivered. I said fine and it was delivered about 10 minutes later. The driver showed me the ticket and it looked like it was burned...fine. Got it. The least that they could have done when they reprinted the ticket was to call and inform us of the delay in delivery. I would have understood. There was no offer of a coupon, nothing for THEIR mistake. When I mentioned any kind of partial refund, the driver got major attitude and said, "You could have gotten a refund on the pizza, but you're taking it now, so there's no refund."
