Mariscos Las Islitas — Restaurant in Madera

Where do I begin? First off, the service was terrible and very slow. Our waitress never came to ask us if we needed anything else. My family and I decided to take a chance and eat there, My girlfriend and I got ceviche, I got the Ceviche Verde with a spicy Avocado sauce. The kids got quesadillas, chicken nuggets and fries. I have had lots of ceviche and mexican food in my life. But this ceviche was way off. The shrimp was a little funky, it tasted raw-like and something about it didn't taste right. The only decent thing on the plate was the fresh avocado and the sauce. My girlfriend ordered a michelada and it was not good, she didnt finish it. And we drink micheladas quite often. On top of that my daughter got mozz. Sticks with her order and the sticks were empty, like the cheese had been taken out of its precious bed of breading in the wake of night. What makes it worse is that our waitress had the audacity to ask us for the cheese sticks to show them to the cook to make sure we weren't lying. They have crazy expensive prices for food thats not even worth the wait or the price. I definitely recommend that nobody come here. So sad and...

I got the camarones a la plancha and let me tell youuuuuu...YUMMMMM!!! I visited for mother's day to celebrate with family & they all were wanting my shrimp. The taste was serious delicious! This was my first time coming to this place, before this I didn't even know it was here and I'm from Madera. I did expect our bill to be high as any seafood place is expensive. Our bill for 4 came out to $100 & change. My husband got the carne asada plate to be safe, our 10 year old son got the kids menu burger with fries, our 9 year old daughter got the kids menu nuggets & fries. He nuggets were dino nuggets lol. She loved that they were dino nuggets so we were happy. Sadly the fountain drinks weren't avail when we went. They did have Jarritos, aguas frescas (horchata & jamaica), lemonade, water & alcoholic drinks avail. They have a jukebox on a wall for music choice. They seated us on a table for 11 people. We got seated pretty quickly , server was friendly , however the food wasn’t it , we ordered a fried tilapia fish extra fried , it came back not fried enough it seemed as jt wasn’t cooked all the way as the fish meat was very bland no taste , my husband only took a bite and realized it wasn’t what he expected , so he left the food as it was , when I was explaining to server that he wasn’t satisfied with his fish , I wasn’t either however I ate the sides and asked if there’s away they can at least discount my husbands fish off the tab as it was only touched to taste once he knew it wasn’t it he left the plate as it was , it seemed as she went to see if the plate was how I left it returned and she the boss can only discount our drinks , $8 , mind you these plates were about almost $20 , seems like a money hungry place , will not be returning .
