We typically have a pretty good experience at the Waterloo location, but today was absolutely horrible. Ordering and getting our items was fine, but there was an issue with a Blizzard that we ordered. There was a piece of hard plastic with white paper on it halfway through. My daughter gagged immediately and thought that she had bit into glass. I tried to call the restaurant multiple times, but they did not answer. We turned around and retuned to the store just to encounter the rudest manager I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I explained the situation and advised that we had tried calling. The manager told me that they were busy and they don’t answer the phone when they’re busy with such a mean look on her face. I handed her the debris inside a napkin as well as the remaining Blizzard and she told me it was probably just a hard piece of chocolate. I assured her it wasn’t chocolate as I had examined it closely and if she looked it at all she would have seen it was clear and white, certainly not chocolate. She was very hateful and said “well you ate half of the Blizzard anyways” I’m not sure what that even means and told her that we would like a refund. She closed the window in my face. She didn’t ask for my receipt, apologize, or display the smallest trace amount of empathy that my child could’ve been injured. She came back a few minutes later and handed me $4.79 in cash, which mind you was not the amount that we paid for the Blizzard. I asked what her name was as I planned to outreach someone regarding this experience and she told me she doesn’t give out her name and shut the window yet again. It truly wasn’t about the $6, it’s the principal that a manager that is supposed to be setting the example for the workplace full of teenagers displayed such poor customer service and was downright mean. This experience was extremely disheartening as we were treated so poorly. My family will never return to this...
Read moreMy fiancé ordered a mini chocolate chip cookie dough blizzard and when we got home she discovered they hadn’t added the chocolate to the blizzard. She had had one bite and I told her I was going to take it back and have them remake it. When I got back the cashier asked what she could do and I told her that the blizzard we had just ordered didn’t have the chocolate they add into the blizzard. She said she would take a look and grabbed it and walked away. When she came back she handed me the cup of melted ice cream with chocolate mixed in and said it “a little liquidy but because she ate half of it she can’t do anything.” I told her she had only had one bite and it had melted at that point that’s why it looked how it did, so I asked her if she could remake it. She turned from me and asked someone in her headset if she could before remaking it and just sliding it to me and said “here you go” And that was that. The fact is they didn’t make the blizzard according to their recipe, so they should remake it! She clearly had an attitude after I asked her to remake it and it’s just so unnecessary and unprofessional. This isn’t the first time we’ve had issues with them not following their own recipe with no explanation and trouble given when we ask them to make it right. We just seem to never have a good experience when we come here, especially...
Read moreThis particular DQ is an excellent reflection of Canal Winchester people and that home town feel. Yes, you get the reliability of knowing the menu of DQ, but you also feel like you are being waited on by friends. I love the no-risk, no non-sense solid mid-west type menu you can count on to be good and be reasonably priced. I normally go thru the drive-thru but this last time I got to take my 4 year old granddaughter out to lunch, just us. The staff went out of their way to talk to her making her feel special. My petite granddaughter chowed down (?!) and as we were leaving, the staff asked if she had a nice lunch. These special touches are priceless but are quite common at this particular location. Editing to add one note about parking. Be VERY careful which spot you pick as the spots are not wide enough. More than once I couldn't get kids in their car seats or me in my driver's side door bc someone else wasn't exactly even inside...
