This place is GOATed for AFFORDABLE, big portions of Chinese food and being one of the only new businesses that actually stays open somewhat late in Madison these days. Its crazy how few late night options there are compared to ten or fifteen years ago. There are just not that many places anymore where you can get a big ass meal for cheap, and have it not be garbage quality food that is not even hot. This is not a problem here! I give this joint 5 stars because it does a perfect job for the product and service they are working to provide (affordable, quick, tasty Chinese food) Every time I have gotten food here it had been HOT and quickly prepared in the time frame they said it would be. The sweet and sour chicken was hot and super crispy, with the sauce on the side so the chicken doesn't get soggy from it. Little details like this matter, and this allows it to be nice and crispy when you prepare it at home :) The Mei Fun/Singapore noodles are also killer if you like cabbage! The crispy sesame beef is also another dank option for munchies as well, and once again was actually hot and crispy also! I also love the fact you can see the kids doing homework there sometimes, and I love the fact I'm supporting a local family and helping them get through these...
Read moreThird time being here. Food is okay for the price. I’ve gotten beef and broccoli every time and it tastes like your standard Chinese take out beef and broccoli, same with the chicken and broccoli. Always incredibly juicy however, had to pour out most of the excess.
First two times didn’t have problems with the rice. Even asked for pork fried rice instead of steamed and they obliged. The rice was good. Third time they didn’t give us pork fried (no biggie, they were really nice to do it the first two times). But this time the rice tasted old, wasn’t very enjoyable.
Orderd crab rangoons, good fry just quite light on the crab. Pretty good still.
Ordered the chicken wings. Inedible. Very greasy and very little actual meat on the bones. Clearly very cheap chicken.
Girlfriend did not get the egg roll that was supposed to come with her lunch special.
Experience was good the first two times, not so much on the third. Would probably still go back for the price. Staff is nice...
Read moreOrdered via Uber Eats at 11 pm. Received food by 11:40. Very reasonable delivery time for that time of night.
Ordered Egg Drop Soup, Crispy Rolls, and Beef with Broccoli.
All food was hot and appeared to be made with fresh ingredients, but I disliked the flavors tremendously.
Soup tasted like egg in water - no other flavor at all. Rolls were crispy but had a strange aftertaste not overcome with soy sauce. Beef with broccoli flavoring was strong but off putting. Can’t say what the mix of flavorings was, but it was unlike any I’ve tasted.
The white rice was the perfect consistency. But so bland I couldn’t eat by itself.
In the end, I only ate a few bites of all of it and had to discard the rest.
I’ve had these items from many different restaurants many many times. Never had any that tasted like this.
Considering the cost of delivery on top of everything else, it was an expensive dinner to have so much thrown away while leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Very...
