Crostini Sandwiches — Restaurant in Madison

I had one friend tell me this place was amazing. I had never heard of them, so next time I was at the barbershop I asked around. If you've ever seen the movie Coming to America, or, well, Barbershop, you know everyone at the neighborhood barbershop is an expert at everything and nothing. The consensus there was that it was ok, but way overpriced for small sandwiches, so I didnt bother for a while.

I dont know why I listened to them fools. Yesterday I was in the mood for a deli sandwich and my usual spot closed early, so I decided to give them a try. They didnt really have deli sandwiches, but what I did try was great.

First thing I tried was the spicy chicken sandwich. I ordered hoping it wasnt a buffalo chicken sandwich. It was definitely their take on a buffalo chicken sandwich, but different and better. I got it grilled. It has a hint of cajun seasoning in it as well.

I also got an Italian combo, as I havent found one I LOVE in Madison since Deli Roma closed. Well, now I have. It was well seasoned, full of flavor, dipped without being so soggy you cant pick it up.

Sandwiches are $6-9 and average size so, yes, not fast food prices, but not outrageous. How much do you spend on a sandwich at Applebees anyways? About the same and it's not as good.

Going back tonight to try more things.

Some sandwiches are indeed small. The reuben had great flavor but I expected more for an $8 sandwich. Same with the club supreme, although I'll probably get the club supreme again. If I want a big reuben I go to BBQ Joint, if I want a small one I go to Sliced.

Biggest "miss" I tried so far? The chicken pesto panini. Also kind of small, but more importantly, their pesto is not pestoy at all to me. It looked and tasted more like mediocre guacamole. I did not enjoy this one at all.

Went to try this place after seeing it in a food group with good reviews....The first visit by myself was fine besides the floor being greasy and gross. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The food was ok.... Fastforward 2 weeks later, I bring the Mrs. in to grab a bite and show her the place. Again, order taker was nice and helps us decide. She orders the turkey panini and it comes as a pita and the pita is rock hard. She goes to get her order corrected and they just look at her funny....so she sat and ate what she could of the meal that wasn't exchanged. My order comes, super simple Philly with no green peppers.... it comes with peppers, I walk up and sent it back no biggy. Wait 14 more minutes after I tell them to make it to go and it's the same order with green peppers. I take it back again. I've been super patient and understanding even though it's slow, they may be busy or short staffed in the kitchen. Third sandwich comes and I'm am walking out with my food and some money voucher I won on their machine while waiting. Not alot of money but wasn't able to cash out. Owner had to be there to pay put so they tell me come tomorrow. I go the next day out of my way to just get cashed out so I don't ever have to step food in there again and the current workers want to argue about what I was told the night before and the policy written on the wall..... after insisting on my few dollars they reluctantly call the owner who OKs them to pay me. Horrible place. Will never visit again. Better food places in Madison. It sucks too because I wanted to...

ZERO STARS!!!! My half of the order was made good. My girlfriends sandwich was lacking the sauce that was suppose to be on it and the cheese was BURNT and uneatable. The fries are also soggy. We called the place back after it was delivered and was told we would get full credit on the items that were messed up. When we go to order the next time we are told that it was against store policy to do refunds without the food. The food had been long in the trash at this point as they didn't tell us anything about returning the food in the first place. The 2nd hand manager then began to raise his voice at my girlfriend and then proceeded to get into a loud argument with myself. I then asked for when another manager will be on and he kept refusing to give me a time or shift. I then asked for corporate number which he said there was no corporate or corporate number but then told me a corporate representative will be in at 4pm. I am frustrated and lost at this point very displeased and will update after I call at 4pm UPDATE: guy got on the phone acting like cooprate listened to my complaint and said he'd talk to his team after a brief pause he came back on and said instead of a 10% discount he could make it 11% discount and a bunch of laughing in the back ground followed. I then asked for names they replied with "Joey" and "dylan" . We are taking our money elsewhere we don't want children messing up our order and we will go to a place that won't lie or degrade...
