Habanero's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Madison

Racist against blacks. I walked in the restaurant & approached the order area. While viewing the menu to see the options a male employee who was Hispanic looked at me & began speaking Spanish to the female employee who was near the register. The female employee approached him speaking in Spanish & both continued to look at me then looking at each other repeatedly while speaking in Spanish before even greeting me. After the two finished talking the female employee then said hello & walked away. There was a male Hispanic customer who was laughing after the two employees finished talking & also looked at me while continuing to laugh & stated nothing he’s ready for you (in English) pointing at the employee. I asked what’s so funny that y'all got to speak in Spanish & laugh while constantly looking at me. The male employee & male customer continued laughing.

As an out of town customer visiting the city, I refuse to spend money where another language is being used & it has a lot to do with my food. I strongly encourage all English speaking customers to be careful where you eat when it’s not being served by English speaking employees. They take advantage of you by being rude or disrespectful using another language. I DID NOT ORDER as I was there to purchase 5 meals to go. I’ll spend my money somewhere else when it comes to...

My husband drove an hour to Madison to get a burrito for me from here. I’d had one that my friend gave me and it was delicious. He was rushed, the man was very rude and my husband said he wanted a chicken burrito with no hot sauce, yet he received a chicken quesadilla with rice and beans and guacamole on the side. I wanted green tomatillo sauce and received some sort of hot sauce. The rice tasted like chlorine and the beans were rancid. The quesadilla was dry and so very bland. I don’t know who runs this place, but treating customers poorly because they aren’t familiar with the menu or don’t know what they want is a pretty awful way to run a business. Also, if you’re going to call someone names in another language you should probably be certain that they don’t speak said language....

Unfortunately this place has really gone downhill this summer. I've bought food for my family here almost every Tuesday for the last year and a half. The portions are about half of what they used to be, and the quality just isn't the same. I asked for a side of hot sauce for my wife 3 times, and the girl said it was already in the bag, but it wasn't. She just stared at me with a blank look on her face. Now my kids are complaining and they won't eat the taco tortillas. It was so underwhelming we'll just drive farther to get better food...
