Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Madison

A huuuge tip of my hat to Sandwich Superstar, Caspar Uy. He came up with a few "specialty" menu options that make this Jimmy Johns unlike any other in the city and allow for ingredient combinations that I may not have thought of. Vegan options as well!

I've stopped in a number of times as this is a very convenient location to visit while I'm on the job. Recently, however, I've had additional reasons to stop by: Caspar Uy and his clear love of his job. Caspar started sometime this year, and every time we meet, I've left with a smile. He personally hand-crafted a "secret menu" featuring different ingredient combinations that are not all featured on the main menu, This really spices things up and keeps each JJ's visit fresh and enjoyable. He even came up with Vegetarian and Vegan specific sandwiches in addition to the omnivorous ones. He truly goes above and beyond ANY "fast food" employee I have ever met, and is more "there for the customer" in every regard. More than just taking my order, he makes me feel seen, heard, and respected, and it's hard not to notice his dedication to service and wonderful attitude in turn. SERVICE= 1000 stars. The 7 months that I spent here were the best of my life; I miss the clients, I miss the staff, and I miss the city. I was the General Manager from February 2023 to October 2023. I relocated on short notice to help the company, and I sacrificed a lot; I slept on a floor in Wisconsin while I still had a place in Illinois (found a bed in July).

I truly did my best to serve the local populace. I cared about everyone and I made sure my staff was paid well. I even, maybe foolishly, decided to help an employee with a place to stay because they showed talent.

Unfortunately, due to the quick relocation and demands of the business, I was unable to move fully in to Wisconsin. This created mental stress that I communicated with upper management; eventually, I was forced to work 18 days in a row, and that's when I started to break. The company then terminated me, and I'm now homeless. I wasn't even given a chance.

My order was missing ingredients I paid extra for. I work alone in my department in the hospital, so I have to eat in the 5 minutes I have to myself-- so I ate it without the extras. I called later after work to say "Hey, this was messed up, can I get my money back for those extra ingredients?" One manager said "My name is Madison, drop my name next time and your sandwich will be free" So I did, and the General Manager said I can't prove it so they won't do it. I asked if they will at least refund my $1.35. NOPE! Way to lose a regular customer over something so petty! I can afford to lose the $1.35 they charged me extra, thank goodness.
