I walked into Papito's Mexican Grill and I was greeted by the manager with a great welcoming personality! I went to Papito's on a beautiful Sunday (April 17), even decided to sit on the nice patio of the restaurant. I decided to order a shrimp and beef quesadilla. I indulged in the chips and salsa while I waited, which happened to be really delicious and authentic. I received my quesadilla and it smelled and looked great. Opened it up partially to get a glimpse of the contents and confidently closed it back up. I cut the 1st piece from the end and it was so tasty. I then took a 2nd bite and it was just as good! Low and be hold, I took the 3rd bite and about halfway thru the chew I bit into something hard!!! Now it only was suppose yo consist veggies, cheese, shrimp, and beef. I slowly took it out my mouth and it was a piece of ceramic of some type (brownish/greenish color). I sat for a few examining the mouth sized bite that I chomped into. I then ushered for my waitress and he appeared shortly after. I explained what happened and what I found in my mouth from a quesadilla, in which he looked at it in my hands. He apologized and asked for me if I wanted a new one or my money back. Being that I've heard great reviews about it and it was my 1st time going, I agreed to get a new quesadilla with my side of rice on the side remade. I then asked my waiter if I could please speak with the manager. He said sure and precesses to leave the table with my plate that had the piece of ceramic and food. I waited for 10 MINUTES for the manager, in which I then got up to find him for myself. I explained AGAIN what happened and he apologized and said that my waiter never came to inform him. Smh. I then told him that I understand mistakes can happen (although I obviously don't like them when it comes to my food!!) and I had ordered another one, yet I would appreciate some type of discount, because of the inconvenience and unprofessionalism in the "restaurant world", to acknowledge the ordeal. He then casually told me I woule be getting 20% off my 19.00 meal, which came out to $15. Really??!!! It should've been almosr free hell!! I will NEVER go to another Papito's again. Smh. I could have taken it to another level, but I chose not to make a scene. Never again. And I LOVE...

Read moreI ate here a few times over the course of the 6 weeks I spent in town at my parent’s as Papito’s is their local choice for Mexican food. I’ve had a couple different dishes, and I would say they were okay. I had the Steak Fajita Chimichanga which was a large portion entree as it comes with rice and beans with a standard size chimichanga. The steak wasn’t very flavorful inside the chimichanga, so I wasn’t “Wowed,” and if I were to try the Chimichanga again, I’d probably get the Chicken since that is what my mother always ordered. I also had the Fajita Quesadilla with Steak. This was smaller than I anticipated since the menu said “large quesadilla;” I expected a larger portion than what I view as a standard size quesadilla. Although it was tasty and filling, the entree did not come with rice or beans which would have paired well with this quesadilla. The Queso is definitely delicious, and their Salsa is extremely fresh tasting—loved both of these! So, regarding food overall, I’d rate them as average. Regarding service, I would say that the hostess is always friendly and inviting, and the waitstaff were definitely on top of refills. The only 2 remaining comments I have are why I went down from 4 to 3 stars, and that is hygiene and smell. The first smell that hits me entering the restaurant is very unpleasant. I actually thought someone had gotten sick in the lobby the first time I was there, but by the 3rd time, I decided it was a normal smell in the entrance. The last comment was actually one my mother made on our last visit when she saw that one of the female staff with long hair was swinging her hair all around the tortilla press as she was making tortillas. The comment was how staff that are doing the cooking should put their hair up so it doesn’t come in contact with the food as it appeared to be doing. I hate giving negative comments, but I do want to be transparent in my reviews. This restaurant wasn’t awful, but my opinion is that...
