A Tasty Journey to Stoneage BBQ: A Mixed Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stoneage BBQ, a Korean-inspired restaurant that left me with mixed feelings. While the food was undeniably excellent, I couldn't help but feel that the overall experience was marred by its steep prices. Having spent four years in Korea and developed a fondness for its cuisine, my excitement was palpable when I discovered this restaurant. However, the cost proved to be a hindrance, preventing me from indulging in their offerings as often as I would have liked.
Let's start with the positives. The wait staff at Stoneage BBQ deserves kudos for their warmth and friendliness. Their attentive service contributed to a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant itself was always clean, bright, and vibrant, setting a welcoming atmosphere. The added touch of playing Korean K-pop music in the background added a lively and authentic touch, immersing diners in the Korean dining culture.
However, a few downsides tempered my overall satisfaction. The seating arrangement under the table, due to the grill, felt quite cramped. Unlike other establishments of similar caliber, this particular restaurant seemed keen on squeezing in more tables, compromising on comfort. Another disappointment was the lack of generosity when it came to the complimentary side dishes. This omission felt unusual considering the customary abundance found in most Korean Galbi restaurants. Additionally, Stoneage BBQ did not offer short ribs, a staple in many Korean Galbi establishments, despite the prices charged per person suggesting otherwise.
Even with these drawbacks, I would still encourage you to give Stoneage BBQ a try. The food itself is undeniably excellent, showcasing the flavors that made me fall in love with Korean cuisine during my time in Korea. The restaurant's commitment to cleanliness, friendly staff, and the lively atmosphere created by Korean music contribute to an enjoyable dining experience.
I must express my disappointment with the management for not including Galbi in their menu and for the continuous increase in prices. While I recommend trying this place, it's essential to be prepared for the higher cost and the minor inconveniences that come with it.
In conclusion, Stoneage BBQ offers a tantalizing taste of Korea with its exceptional food and welcoming ambiance. Just be mindful of the higher prices and some limitations in the...
Read moreI decided to go get Korean BBQ for the first time by myself on a lovey Tuesday night at 8:30pm. (well I tried)... I walked into an empty restaurant and the hostess slowly approached me. I said "it's just gonna be 1" and she proceeds to look around the restaurant and looks back at me and says nothing. I then proceed to say "you close at 10pm, right?" and she says, "Yes, but we stop seating at 9pm." I looked at the time and it was 8:32pm, so I say, "okay I will be quick." She then tells me, " we do have a to-go menu..." I looked at her sideways and said "I'll just leave now..." and she says "yeahhhh, sorry!" The disrespect and awkwardness was out of this world.
I have worked in a restaurant before and I understand the frustration of people coming to eat right at closing time but this was just not the case. I was a single party of 1 trying to dine in and it would have taken me MAYBE 20-30 min at most to do so. There were also about 4 servers in there already closing down so at that point it was just laziness. They also had 1 hour and 30 min to close the place down! Instead, she pushed for me to get food to-go and lost my business in the process of doing so. To the short girl with brown curly hair, I would maybe think twice before turning someone away almost 2 hours before closing time. It's not a good look at all on the business and now I will never consider coming back to...
Read moreIt's definitely an amazing experience if you got a big appetite and open to the idea of trying different types of meat! I had to take my group of friends to try Korean BBQ for the first time and they had a blast! We managed to go through 3 full courses doing dinner. Our favorites were definitely the Stone Age Steak and the Lemon chicken!! (Some of the items on the menu aren't avaliable because lunch doesn't offer everything at the cost of half the price but dinner does offer everything but at full price) It is an absolute must try, cannot go wrong with them!! The sides were very tasty too, dumplings , fried rice and vegetables were a hit!! I had to also decided to try Sake for the first time, and even though it was a bit on the pricier side, it did not disappoint!! I will say that the price is on the higher end but if you don't mind that and are just open to eating as much as you possibly can I recommend at least a group of 5 friends , once you have a 6th you do have that gratitudity fee of 20% so it adds even more to the bill. Regardless, everyone had a great time and that's all...
