Dave thanks for the free eq advise i am starting to like my DSR1 again.
The bike sounds awsome
In simple terms the staff at sound depot is OUTSTANDING
I had a audio system installed in my car 8 months ago by another shop and without going into great detail i got shafted without a kiss. This other shop did an awful wiring job (one of the worst wiring jobs i have seen) which resulted in lots of alternator noise and lousy sound quality from my components (I have pretty good components). After taking the car back to the establishment several times i got tired and started looking for someone to redo the work. I have always had good luck with Junior, Chris and the other staff members at Sound Depot and when i went to them to redo the work the continued to amaze me. When i received my car back from them i was satisfied with the work and amazed and the short amount of time it took to redo the work.
I appreciated the guys honesty and professionalism when quoting time lines concerning the install and not leaving me stranded for long periods of time without my car.
To sum up my experience I would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to have car audio work completed. From simple jobs to extremely difficult jobs i would recommend Sound Depot to any and all that require this type of work.
Guys I will be back this spring for you to complete the work on my...
Read moreI select one star because I had to select at least one...Maybe installing a stereo in a late model pickup means you can just throw it in and all is well, but I would expect an installation to be complete, not half-@#$ed. Main power wire from battery was installed just laying across back of engine and tie-wrapped to the electrical plug on the AC accumulator. Linked in -line fuse to the battery just laying there, not mounted to anything. Wire was not secured anywhere else. Then I follow the main power wire to the firewall. It goes thru a hole where the hood release cable and seal was. Seal was pulled out and remains on hood release cable and power cable goes thru the hole with no conduit or protection what so ever. The cable is now chaffing along the metal firewall hole...only time will cause it to short and stop the entire truck from running. The first amp they installed, under the driver's seat, was installed with drywall screws. That amp recently went bad and was replaced. The replacement amp was connected up and just thrown back under the seat with nothing securing it. Hard braking and it will be under my feet while trying to drive....how do you say SAFETY ISSUE? Documentation for new amp was not received after install. I'd say my install was a very poor installation. I do not recommend them for...
Read moreSound Depot has been my go to car stereo shop for years. It is locally owned and staffed with car enthusiasts who know the equipment and are willing to tackle any audio challenge. They have upgraded my son and Dad's systems and they completely overhauled my old Honda with JL audio. It made it fun to drive again with all the back-up camera, bass and CarPlay features that you would expect from a newer vehicle.
When I finally did get a new car, they didn't oversell me. New car head units can't be replaced and they don't have pre-amp RCA outs, so with higher trim levels, the audio improvement you get over stock speakers/amp for the financial cost of going LOCs with new amps/speakers is not great. But my sound was still lacking something. They decided to install a LOC just for a new subwoofer and amp. It made a huge difference in the sound and the bass volume knob looks like it was part of a factory trim package!
And the best part? Andrew! I was getting a loud boom from the new sub when I accelerated from low speeds. He discovered (and disabled) a noise cancelling module trying to counteract engine noises with bass waves that get amplified into a boomy mess. I would have never figured that out. Andrew was determined, analytical, kind and ... the car has never sounded better....
