OMG, gotta spill some tea about this spot, Mandarin House! The food? Seriously bomb, especially those coconut shrimps - major love! So, our lil' town is blessed with this Chinese buffet, and it used to be all good vibes with friendly staff. But lately, it's a whole different vibe. Many OG staff peeps are MIA, there's a new manager, new servers – like, did the whole ownership do a flip? The food vibes seem to be taking a dip too.
Everything's feeling kinda alien – folks around here are whispering some not-so-happy tales about Mandarin House (you won't find these on Google Maps 'cause locals don't play that). But from what I'm gathering, the service got sassy, slow, and they're hounding for tips. Complaints that got aired seem to loop back, and my cousin even spilled that the married couple working there yelled at him, saying, "No tips, no welcome back!" It's getting all kinds of heated. Can we get this spot to cool it down? It used to be THE spot, man! #MandarinMeltdown...
Read moreI can't review the buffet. I really only wanted sushi. I ordered the fried rice and an eggroll as well. The eggroll and fried rice were just ok. The sushi was delicious, but it took a long time for it to come out.
I don't know if the gal at the counter realized that there are customers that do understand Spanish. I had the pleasure to listen to her and tell the other gal rudely to stop being lazy and hurry up!! This happened more than once.
The staff on the floor barely understand English. I didn't order the buffet, and so I asked for Sriracha. The helper on the floor brought me sweet and sour sauce. 🤷🏽♀️ The customers at the next table actually are the ones that brought me the Sriracha from the buffet area. Those customers deserve 5🌟
If I come back, it'll be not to sit in and eat. It will only be for the...
Read moreI had a great time at Mandarin House! I live in Hopkinsville but it was definitely worth the drive to Madisonville!! The sushi was fresh! The food was very flavorful! It was really busy but our waitress and the other staff were very attentive. They even had seaweed salad, which I haven't seen on a buffet other than Sushi Train. They had such a variety of foods. I was impressed. I was happy even you be able to get crawfish and jumbo salt and pepper shrimp. The price was less than dinner buffets with much less selection and no shrimp. It was $11.99 per person with soft drinks and tea being $2.00. So, for less than $15 per person, we had a wonderful meal! I think this is the best Chinese Buffet within 40 miles of me and I will definitely be back as...
