I came for my first time with family. It was a Friday evening, and I thought it was overcrowded as we could Barley fit in our chairs without getting hit by people walking through. Service was fast, and they got everything right the first time, which was good. They did refill drinks without asking, which was nice. Womens bathroom was very clean, and men's not, according to my husband.
Food is a little pricey for Mexican and was just ok. I'm from Fort Wayne, IN and while some Mexican restaurants do price like this one, there are a few that are fabulous that are not that pricey and we don't go cheap on what we eat.
Would I come back when in town, probably, but I get the same thing everywhere I go and it just didn't have much flavor and it was a fajita quesidilla with chicken. My husband had the molcajete, and he didn't like it compared to where we have been before. My granny and her friend liked their meals, but if that's what you have in Madisonville as an option, I'm sure they are used to it.
They do have American kids' food, which my kids normally eat Mexican, but they offered it, so they wanted it. My son wouldn't eat the hamburger and the Mac n cheese, which looked like Kraft, my daughter...
Read moreWalking into the restaurant, I had high hopes on finding something delicious. I was hungry for a decent meal, but ordering their signature dish (El Bracero Bowl), I liked how it caught my eyes with the corn that was going to be inside of the bowl. When it came out, I took a bite, and the beef looked plain with a hint of bland. I tried to eat it, but it wasn't really good. I love food and eat everything, especially Mexican food, but I couldn't eat that. My girlfriend ordered a taco bowl but came out with a taco float with the same sadness as my dish.
For the business, I thought they would ask me if the food was ok or be concerned for me not eating my food, but they walked away looking at me. I don't mean to be a Karen or a Ken or want attention for it, but business is business. If I own a restaurant and someone doesn't eat all their food, I'll ask if the food was ok. If they want your money, then they'll take it.
While walking away, they spoke Spanish, but in the context of my not eating my food. I'm sorry, but improve your food. Especially add flavor and make it into your own restaurant that people would...
Read moreIt is a far cry from the El Braceros in Central City, KY. The plate I ordered is not what I received.(Keep in mind, I order the same dish everytime I am at El Braceros. I have for many years ordered the exact same dish! STEAK,RICE&CHEESE) But when I kindly brought this up to the waiter he literally laughed in my face and said it is what you ordered when it was not what I ordered. I have never felt as disrespected as I did at that moment. It literally ruined a special dinner that I was having with beautiful wife. I will never return to this place of business and will always recommend for others to go elsewhere. Now the El Braceros in Central City KY is probably the finest Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Very kind, very proffessional and very respectful. This one in Madisonville is not even in the same league. We will never spend our money in this zoo of a...
