I happened onto this establishment while driving past, and luckily it was lunchtime; it had been a while since I had a burger. So, I'm hoping they'll satisfy my hunger.
The interior has a beautiful industrial modern design with a touch of style. TVs are mounted throughout the space so I can keep up with my local sports team. I liked how this restaurant is involved in their community; based on the certification on the wall, it appears that they support a minor baseball team.
It is a hybrid of counter and table service. I ordered my lunch at the counter, and the staff will bring it to me when it's ready. They were swift. I received both the wings and the burger at the same time. It’s a good thing since I have a short lunch break.
I ordered their six-piece wings and asked for mango habanero sauce on the side in case the sauce was too spicy. They made the wings as a whole, including the drum, flat, and tip. The portion is generous, the meat is succulent, and the exterior is crispy. I was astonished that the mango habanero wasn't as spicy as I thought. The sauce is tasty, with a tangy and smokey flavor. It was also well balanced in terms of sweetness.
I tried one of their specialty burgers, the Memphis burger. It came with two beef patties, both of which were nicely cooked with a little pink in the middle and were juicy. It's appealing to see the cheddar on the patties perfectly melted. The crispy savory bacon contributes texture. The burger has every aspect, but I feel that it lacks flavor. In my perspective, the flavor is linear and not overly nuanced.
The staff delivered the last item, which is Oreo cream pie, right in time. The pie has already been prepared and is served chilled. The crust is so light and fluffy that it reminds me of a cake. The filling is creamy, but it missing Oreo essence. I was disappointed that the crushed Oreo on top was mushy, since it would have given the pie a nice crisp texture.
Even though they are understaffed (just two persons work during the lunch rush), the service is excellent. I have to say the kitchen staff is the real MVP; he's the one who took my orders and cooked my food; he handled the duty with ease in a pleasant attitude...
Read moreI've ordered from here so many times in the past before and have never had a problem, until today. I ordered for delivery and had the driver who was an older woman who was shining her flashlight through the door and trying to open/push the door open....I had given specific instructions for them to call upon arrival and instead I had my mom frightened (She has PTSD) thinking it was cops or someone trying to break in. I work at an Italian Restaurant and have never had any of the drivers I work with do what was done today. When I opened the door, I gave her cash for my food without realizing I had already paid for it online, she came back to the door with only part of the cash I gave her and I noticed she had kept $5 dollars to herself, which in a way I found very rude, you would think someone would return your money to you and not assume that part of that was their tip. Then I called the place to explain what happened, and they had told me that they wouldn't be able to drop off my $5 back till after 10:30-11:00 pm because they had 7 orders ahead of me, apparently it would've taken 5 hours before I got my money back which I found completely ridiculous considering I live right on Mannheim and Pine St. (less than a 5 minute drive) and the fact that they actually close at 8pm and I had placed my order at 5:15pm. So I told the manager I would pick up my money instead, when I arrived the manager didn't seem too interested in trying to hear me out, he just gave me the $5 back and carried on with his work. The fact that no one took responsibility for this and tried to turn it around and ensure my future business with them wouldn't be affected is dissapointing since I myself work in the food service industry. Even though a customer had an unpleasant experience I would try to make sure I win their business back by making sure they know that I care about their business and would try to do anything to make their experience a little bit better. With that being said, I will NEVER be ordering from here again, I am disappointed in how my situation was handled and hope this doesn't happen to...
Read moreAlthough I live up in what's considered Beach Park near the Wadsworth border up in Lake county which is roughly a 34 mile drive, I just happened to be in the area so the timing was right to finally try this place while continuing my "best burger" quest.
Obviously no dining yet so ordered online ahead of time for take out. Assuming American Wildburger was a bit of a high end burger joint with their relatively high pricing, I'm a burger connoisseur so price almost never stops me from trying something new.
Since the beef is organic coming from grass-fed cows and the fries are fresh cut, you can expect to pay significantly more than the typical mass franchise burgers from Mcd's, BK, Wendy's, etc.
I was a few minutes early when I walked in for my pick up and saw a bunch of take out meal boxes that were slowly being packed lunches. The guy who first greeted me who was loading up the lunch containers had explained that they were giving them away for the needy, can't remember the frequency in which they do this but it really touched my heart seeing this.
During this dark period of time with what the whole world is undergoing with millions in this country alone out of work and many businesses struggling to stay afloat, it's amazing knowing this business makes a sacrifice in helping the less fortunate and sickly.
Got my food and left and when I got the chance to start eating, the taste of both the burger & fries were outstanding. Wish they could have some locations in Lake county somewhat closer to my house but I will definitely come back and give this wonderful place my business again if ever...
