I can’t recommend Bona’s Couture enough! When I first brought my dress to Bona, she quoted me about three weeks for alterations — totally understandable given all the work it needed. But to my surprise, she managed to finish everything in under a week!

Initially, she hemmed my dress, took it in, shortened the straps, and transformed what was once a closed-back dress into the most beautifully open-back design (which was requested another day). Her attention to detail and craftsmanship was obvious in every single stitch.

After the initial measurements, I actually went back the very next day to ask if she could make it backless — a big change! She didn’t hesitate at all and handled it with ease, making my vision come to life perfectly.

On top of her incredible skills, Bona herself is an absolute delight. She’s sweet, professional, and even shared stories about her Albanian heritage during our appointments, which made the whole experience even more personal. She was also incredibly patient with me (and my personality!) and never made me feel rushed. She kept reassuring me that she wants to make me happy!!!

The prices for all my alterations were very reasonable — especially compared to other seamstresses I’ve tried in Chicago. Truly nothing matches her rates or her quality of work.

Bonas Couture did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. I had complicated embroidery and needed a LOT of alterations (and also wasn’t entire sure what I needed just knew it didn’t fit right) - they made me feel so comfortable and are so experienced that they were able to quickly identify what needed to be fixed. When I came to pick the dress up it fit like a glove and felt so much more comfortable and looked so much better. They altered four wedding pieces for my mom and I and they did it so expertly, quickly and affordably (seriously some places I looked for alterations were going to cost as much as the dress itself!). I love that it is a family run shop and isn’t corporate. I gave them huge hugs and knew I’d never go anywhere else for alterations again.
