Their menu is extensive, with dishes ranging from Greek to Italian to Mexican to American. There's no way one can't find something they enjoy. Because their menu is wide-ranging it took me some time to peruse it; fortunately, the service was patient. When I was ready, I placed my order at the front counter since it is counter service. I ordered the gyro sandwich deal meal, which included with fries and a medium drink. I also ordered rice pudding, which was recommended by the cashier because I couldn't decide between carrot cake and pudding. After I paid, the cashier will issue me a receipt with the order number. The order number reference will be useful because they will announce it over the intercom when the food is ready. I got the opportunity to observe the surroundings while I waited for my meal. Their furniture is obsolete, but it has been meticulously maintained and is in fantastic condition. Throughout the area, they have vintage decorations. The setting makes me feel comfortable and at ease. The service is prompt, and my lunch arrived on schedule. The gyros sandwich looks appealing, and the pita bread was warm and soft. The meat is thinly sliced and the portion is considerable. The flavor of the meat is tasty, and it has a spongy texture. My only complaint is that the meat is oily. The cucumber sauce is fine, but it has a sour aftertaste that I detest. It's garnished with fresh raw onions and sliced tomatoes for color and flavor. The rice pudding is already prepared in a plastic cup, but they claim it's homemade, so I'm excited to assess it. The rice is just right, neither too firm or mushy, to give the pudding some texture. The pudding is creamy and mildly sweet. It tastes like condensed milk with a tinge of spice from the ground cinnamon. It's a basic, casual dessert that I didn't expect to like.

Almost forgot about this when scrolling thru my photos. This past June was the first time trying this location, 2nd time overall and the previous was at the Schaumburg location. I really like their menu here although to many it may be just another Chicago style/Greek fare restaurant. That's fine by me being I live for Chicago hotdogs, juicy burgers, Italian beef, gyros, fries, etc. The food overall is really good here but the gyros are the bomb. We don't have any Brandy's locations up in Lake County (I live in Beach Park) but I sure wish we did! If ever in the area again, I could definitely go for some tasty grub from Brandy's. Wish for continued boomin' business for decades to come for the owner(s).

Tried many items and dessert items, I understand it's about different tastes for everyone, in general it was under salted. I appreciated the well cooked gyro, the thick fries, flavor for the rice and beans was good, but thought the beans were a bit dry/thick. Vanilla shake & rice pudding was my favorite treat to end my meal. Customer service was very friendly, knowledgeable about the food. The floor was sticky, bathroom was understocked and needing a mopping as well

I was going to keep quiet but after spending seventeen bucks for a large gyros sandwich...no salad no extras. I have to say something. OK the gyros was really really debilitatingly greasy that is aomewhat expected... the portion adequate but far from huge. I have had much larger portions of gyros at restaurants when ordering a ten dollar gyro plate. I guess times are tough and more profit is needed. The onions were tough, stringy and acid sulfur harsh. I asked for extra tomatoes and got four thin quarter slices, asked for more... got four quarter slices...I then asked if I could BUY extra tomatoes and they had the nerve to charge an extra buck and put a few more slice quarters on a sheet of wax paper, the cook acted as if he was doling out extra prime meat doing me a huge favor and looked at me like I was weird for wanting extra tomatoes. Keep your opinion to yourself. If a customer spends that much for a fast food sandwich don't be cheap with tomatoes. Gyros is two for six bucks at Arbys and twelve bucks for a huge platter and salad at most Greek restaurants.

I honestly truly left hungry after a seventeen dollar gyro and 23 ounce Arizona ice tea meal. ...if it werent for the massive heartburn from the grease and acrid onions I would have eaten somewhat else immediately after. I will just stay awake wondering why I had that self-destroying craving now burping gyro grease. Wont be returning. Still reeling cause I know how much better a meal there should be ordering a sandwich at that price.

... on the plus side if you have an average appetite you can buy well over priced fast food...

I ordered a veggie burger and a small fry and my husband ordered a turkey sandwich with soup. The veggie burger is supposed to include mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on top. Mine only had tomato, onion and mayo on it; no lettuce or pickles. The veggie burger patty was cold and tasted like it hadn't been cooked long enough. It tasted terrible. The turkey meat on my husbands sandwich was strangely ice-cold. It seemed as if it had been pre-frozen and hadn't thawed out completely. The only good thing about the meal were the french fries and the soup. We both tossed our sandwiches. I've been coming here for years and this is the first time I've gotten a bad order like this. That's why I am giving 2 stars instead of just 1. I really hope that Brandy's doesn't continue giving such poor service. Nobody wants a hot sandwich that is cold, undercooked and missing toppings. I may give this restaurant another chance..but if they screw up my order again, I'm...
