La Michoacana — Restaurant in Maine Township

Good place, certainly better than its competitor on Oakton Street and better prices. It does get busy, and people order a lot, but the wait isn’t too bad on busy days. The younger girls have this legging obsession I’ve never seen in any where else, it was like -16 once and they had leggings haha . Definitely better than Oakton tho, and they have more people working too, usually. I like this place and try to leave tips when I can. Im that dude that always gets like 2-3 corn in a cup lmao. They speak both english and Spanish. Don’t be shy if you’re a non spanish speaker. They don’t bite, and the ice cream is bomb. Funny story, there’s a girl that works here and for some reason every time I come in shes making corn and then I order even more corn, so I was going to give her a $20 tip right? Because she’s ALWAYS making corn and my corn. So she checks me out and I buy my corn, she quickly turns to attend the next customer and I say “wait” (so I can give her the tip) but unfortunately as she was turning around I SAW HER roll her eyes 👀. Bottom line don’t waste your time, go to the Michoacana on Oakton St. they have better prices and they give better customer service. This particular Michoacana has terrible service when it comes to serving their customers. A friend of an employee might jump in front of you and your 10-15 minute wait will turn into a 30 minute one. It’s obvious that the owner hirers friends and friends of friends. I called to find out the name of the woman that gave my mother bad service when she allowed three men to jump in front of her after she had been in line for 10 minutes. Had a taste for an elote came in this location, not the first time I've came in. Not the best service or corn I ever received, I just came because of the convenience. I waited over 10 mins, then I see another customer getting something similar that I order and was paying and ready to go. Disorganized the corn isn't fresh or too much chilli is on it which is unbearable. Go to the other LaMichocana on Oakton in Des Plaines. I've gave this location chance after chance it never fails its always an issue. The Des Plaines location is literally 3 to 4 minutes away if your driving.
