Barn'rds Restaurant — Restaurant in Maize

My husband and I lived in Wichita when we first got married, nearly 20 years ago now. We lived on Rock Rd., just minutes away from Barn’rds. The owners actually were members of the same church we got Married in and went to service every Sunday. So we saw them often. During Lent, hey supplied, free to everyone, a variety of non-meat soups, and although I had had plenty of their signature sandwiches (which I just LOVED), their cream of potato soup caught my heart! I have made it for years myself, and I honestly say I have NEVER had soup that delicious! Thank goodness I lived close by, because I would go through the drive thru and pick up large containers of soup, and several Barn Stormer Sandwiches! The owners have always been so nice, giving and gracious, and they have some of the most incredible staff, who are always kind, patient, and best of all, attentive & accurate. We have since moved to the Kansas Citu area and had children, but one of our favorite “funand crazy” things to do, is Pile in the car, drive 3 hours to Wichita, just to get some Barn’rds. In fact, I think another trip is just around...

Barn’rds is a Wichita gem that absolutely delivered. I ordered their signature Barnstormer sandwich, and wow—it was like a motivational speech in sandwich form. Flavorful, hearty, and gone way too fast. The fries? Crispy perfection, made even better when dipped in their homemade BBQ sauce, which I’m convinced should be sold by the gallon.

My wife, who claims to have an entire “sweet mouth” instead of just a sweet tooth, had the chicken berry walnut salad and hasn’t stopped raving about it since. She called it “how salads are meant to be,” and honestly, I believe her.

The staff were all incredibly friendly, like they actually wanted to be there—imagine that! Great service from start to finish.

Shoutout to my buddy “Tony,” (not his actual name) who couldn’t make it because he had to work. He was devastated to miss out, and honestly, I don’t blame him.

If you’re in Wichita and haven’t been to Barn’rds, fix that....

The absolute best roast beef sandwhich in Wichita can only be found here. Honestly I have never even had better anywhere else I have been!

The barnstormer is absolutely fantastic with super savory meat. There is also a Jalepeno sandwhich my dad gets that is also insanely good and something I will get more. Their pasta salad is wonderful and their fries with a side of cheese dipping sauce is exceptional!

The service is always friendly and I love supporting a good local restaurant! I come whenever I can!

While I miss the look of their old east side location this is a must stop restaurant in Wichita. They have great food at great prices with friendly customer service. I've never in the years I've eaten at this restaurant whether the old east or the New west side had a bad meal or experience.
