Catalina's Pizza Malden — Restaurant in Malden

We tried Catalina's right after moving to Malden a few years back and it quickly become our go-to pizza place.

My entire household and assorted friends have various dietary restrictions (nuts, sesame, dairy allergy, vegan/veggie, etc.) and we all manage to find food we can eat and enjoy from Catalina's. Although none of our allergies are very serious, no one has ever ended up with issues due to food cross contamination, which when considering the fact that Catalina's also has more than one dairy free/vegan option on the menu and tasty food, puts Catalina's head and shoulders above most other restaurants I've eaten at.

The vegan pizzas taste great, and even after a few years of ordering, we still have no idea how the vegan garlic knots taste that cheesy and still contain no cheese - it's the tastiest kind of mystery! Catalina's has also been willing to put vegan cheese on otherwise non vegan pizzas, which we'll happily go for when completely vegan pizzas aren't necessary.

We have occasionally ended up with some knots slightly underdone once, but as far as track records go, I'm happy to consider absolutely not an issue if that happens once in two plus years.

Definitely place your order in advance - this place gets busy even if you call...

The pizza sauce was a bit blant and tasted a bit raw, aka not traditional italian style sauce. In my opinion the pizza needed some herbs like oregano or basil and a touch of salt or spice. A lot of these are things one can add on top and they had a couple shakers at the dining area for adding flavor. (V) I am also vegan and the Manager on the phone was extremely polite and kind and accepted my request to substitute the cheese on their veggie special for vegan cheese so long I paid extra 2 dollars. I did that by adding the extra cheese button online and writing sub vegan cheese on special instructions. OVERALL HAPPY WITH...

No more from this place. You would think a turkey club is pretty easy to make right? Then you've already done more than the people cooking here. for $38 I got 2 turkey clubs missing the bacon and tomato that is said to be on it from the menu on bread warmed up from the overdone fries sitting next to it in the container during delivery. I understand issues from the kitchen but not even putting on what should be in the first place or informing the person ordering from you if something is unavailable, that is just downright laziness and you need to let someone else take care of it. support a different business the next...
