Masslock Inc — Local services in Malden

a few weeks ago, i called masslock for help because i had accidentally locked myself out of a room in my house. the person that was sent (his name was rob/robert) harassed me the entire time he was at my house to service me for this lockout. it made me feel extremely uncomfortable that he was hitting on me the entire time he was supposed to be doing his job and it made me uneasy that he had (not sure if this is still true) access to my phone number, address, credit card information, and email. he had been inside my house. after he finished with my lock out and took my payment information, i noticed that he went back inside his masslock van and didn't leave for another 10-15 minutes or so. he started texting me right before he drove off and didn't stop until i blocked him the next morning. i went to masslock's only open location in person (right now that is the malden location) and told them about what had been happening to me. they initially denied it and said that they didn't know of any of their technicians by that name but after repeatedly describing in detail what "robert" had been doing, they said they would look into it but it's been a few weeks now and i haven't heard back from them at all. some creep like "robert" shouldn't be holding a LOCKSMITH job like this, where he knows how to & can easy break a lock and enter homes and continue to...

I recently moved into an older home with some pretty ancient locks and door/frames, so I reached out to MassLock for help with replacing them. I submitted pictures of the locks online on a weekend, and someone from their team called me the very next day with a rough estimate and to schedule a service technician.

Forrest, the technician, arrived on time and even texted me ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He took his time carefully assessing the locks and explained that due to the age of both the locks and the doors, some retrofitting would be necessary. Forrest was extremely knowledgeable and gave me several options to choose from. He also made sure I knew the final cost before moving forward.

Since the doors were quite old and required special parts, Forrest needed to order them, which meant scheduling a second visit to complete the job the day after next (they were available the next day but I had a conflict). On the scheduled day, he arrived on time again, got to work, and finished the job in a timely manner. Not only did he do a fantastic job replacing all the locks, but he also made sure to clean up afterward, leaving no mess behind.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Have an old mortise lock that wasn't working. Went to a large chain hardware store and got a story about "well a mortise lock is custom, so you need to remove it and bring it here so we can measure it. Otherwise if we order it and it's the wrong size you can't return it." Tried a local locksmith -- chased multiple times "I'm busy try me later". Now I'm wondering if I'm stuck and have to replace the door itself for big $$$.

Finally called MassLock 10:30 am and they had a tech on site mid-afternoon. Dan from MassLock arrives takes one look and says "oh sure, we can fix this no problem I can do it right now." He took the time to explain the problem and the repair, worked quickly and efficiently, and even recommended a polish to brighten up the brass fittings. MassLock goes in my book as a service keeper.
