On 4/29/22 I ordered my favorite drink, which came back completely different, drink was possibly sitting for too long and tasted like water, now because I’m very familiar with this specific drink I told the young server that I didn’t want the drink since it was not the same as usual and I prefer to order a beer instead, he told me the manager won’t take the drink back which I proceeded and asked to speak to the manager. The manager/owner who is a female never came to the table so I placed the drink at the bar and said I didn’t want it. At the end I was charged for the drink so I decided to pay cash minus the drink I didn’t have. Then the female manager with the worst attitude told me that “next time before you order something be sure to check the menus first”. I told her well it’s hard to know that I don’t like something unless I’ve taste it. With the same unpleasant attitude she rolled her eyes at me and told me to have a good night. Now I decided not to argue and I left. Knowing I would post a review. From what I noticed customer service was very poor and very unprofessional, manager was very rude and unwilling to solve the issue. To me it’s simple, if she had came to the table to at least try and help, it would have not been a big deal but the fact that she choose to ignore a customer who was unhappy with her service and she was unwilling to help that was a huge no no! I work in Malden and I will let my friends know of this. I have several clients in Malden which I will tell the same information. Never mind that the customer is always right but the fact that she intended to not only give a danm but show that didn’t care one bit, no customer should be treated that way. Plus the sever informed me that the manager was the one who made the drink. Treat every customer like you would want to be treated, do better...
Read moreI went on an open mic night, usually Wednesdays. Ok, let me say that this place is supposed to be "Island Caribbean". The menu had no steam cabbage, no Caribbean veggies like what I'm used to. I found that odd, but decided to give this place a try regardless. Got there, was nicely greeted and seated. The place looked empty for an open mic night but figured it was still early. The DJ was still setting up and playing some ok music Proceeded to look at the menu and get my grub on. We ordered fried dough as anappetizer. My partner ordered the fried chicken and I ordered the creole goat as an entree. Ok, the fried dough was a good dish. A bit oily, but none the less good. Spicy, but not overly spicy, crispy on the outside, but soft and delicious on the inside fried dough. That was a winner! My partners' entree on the other hand, not so impressed at all. Fried Chicken with red beans and rice, side salad and smashed plantains with some type of sauce or gravy for the fried chicken. She drenched the two chicken drumsticks with the sauce/gravy. None the less the chicken was extremely dry and crunchy and no taste. Not what she expected for a Caribbean dish. Extremely disappointed with the chicken. My dish on the other hand, the goat was good. It came with the same sides as mentioned above. The goat came in a creole sauce of its own, which was very tasty. The goat was tender, well seasoned and portioned well. A winner! Let's move on to the entertainment for the night...let's just say I've seen much better talent come through open mic, but these people are trying their best to become more than something, so I can respect that. Overall, this place is new and it's very telling of that. Oh! If you're into Haitian food, this place is for you. I was expecting some other "Caribbean" delectacies, but was honestly...
Read moreLet’s start off with the welcome greet I received today from the employee named Johnathan. He was such a gentleman and helped me with my two toddler babies. I know how long fried snapper can take to prepare at local restaurants so I decided to call me order in prior to arrival. When he sat me and my daughters down my fried snapper in a delicious Haitian Creole sauce came out in about 5-10 mins. The food was fresh, the salad was amazing and the baked Haitian Mac and cheese my eldest daughter devoured. The total price for the entire meal was more than reasonable. Once again the hospitality was amazing. A young lady who spoke fluent Haitian Creole came out from the back of the kitchen and asked how I liked the food. I’ve been to countless Haitian/Caribbean restaurants , and I’ve never been welcomed with such love and kindness. This will be my go to place every Sunday. Also I saw advertisements for open mic, and dance nights. I’m glad I found this gem of the island Caribbean Cuisine. Amazing amazing amazing! I love every moment of it. It’s beautiful to see people of different races, and ethnicities, enjoying Caribbean food, good job island Caribbean, I’m happy for...
