IHOP — Restaurant in Manassas

Absolute worst experience. Awful service, food cold. Our food took forever to come out and at that point our fries were cold to the touch. When we asked for hot fries instead of leaving our sandwiches (burger and hot Nashville chicken melt) the server took our whole plates, we watched him touch the food and then bring the sandwiches back cold 5 minutes later and shortly after they brought the same fries that they recooked so they were not good. At that point we ask to speak to the manager because now we are annoyed...we weren't asking for anything, but a box to bring our food home and let her know that the service was lacking that night. She acted offended, but did offer to remake the food which we had to take to go because everyone else in our party had finished eating by this point. The server never returned to see if we needed anything. Multiple times I attempted to get his attention because we were waiting to ask for refills and he ignored us. He spent his time with the party who were behind us that he knew. I'm kind of shocked that the manager knowing how bad our service already had been to that point sat around chatting with the staff and then they all come around giving us dirty looks, then she would come over acting overly nice. This was our regular weekend go to spot, but we won't be back. I could understand them feeling some kind of way if we were trying to get free food, but we never asked for anything but fresh french fries. All we did was try to let management know there was an issue that evening.

Update: The restaurant responded to my review asking me to complete a link so they could follow up and that was 4 days ago. Definitely confirmed my thought to not return. If the owner can't follow up I understand why they have the...

IHOP review 8785 Centreville Rd, Manassas, VA 20110 Server: Eduardo We ordered: Appetizer sampler (4 chicken strips,4 mozzarella sticks, 6-8 onion rings).

cinnamon dippers (cinnamon balls with icing).

Breakfast sampler (two pieces of ham, two sausage links, 2 bacon, hash browns, two sunny side up eggs, 2 pancakes).

Classic with bacon (bacon cheeseburger, fries)

Drinks: coffee, water, Sierra Mist, Oreo milkshake(to-go).

Review: this was my first time at this particular location. When we came in, it was somewhat busy, however, we were seated in less than two minutes and it took about five minutes for a server to greet and take our order. The food took about 12-15 minutes to be served and came out altogether. The food was excellent. Everything was cooked properly and was delicious. the server checked on us every 5 to 10 minutes to see if we needed any refills or assistance. He was very kind and accommodating. When we ordered food to go the server place our order and 5 minutes later came back and informed us that a big party ordered before us so there would be a slight delay in the kitchen and he kept us updated as we waited. we spent about an hour and a half from the time we came in being seated, served, eating and getting our check. Server definitely deserves recognition for his courteous and accommodating demeanor and professionalism. I don’t know what’s going on with ihops lately. I really used to love these restaurants but their quality and service is frankly just garbage lately. I had a bad experience last time at another location so decided to go to this one. To begin with, the table wasn’t wiped down. There were food bits and spills on the table when we sat down. Disgusting. The lady would go around and picked up dishes and no one would wipe down the table. That’s absolutely vile. Secondly, my daughter (she’s five) told the waitress she wanted the cupcake pancakes but I told her I was not done yet, so then some ten minutes later, our waitress for some reason brought out my daughter’s food before I had finished ordering mine. She didn’t ask me if I wanted to do that. So, she asked me if I was ready I told her no I needed one more minute, and she goes, and stands to the side but she’s directly in front of me looking around. I decide and close my menu and she continues looking around. My daughter is now half way through her meal and the waitress still hasn’t come back over. And she’s just standing there. She then begins helping another table directly in front of us, and goes, and stands, and looks around. She’s four feet from me. She finally came back some ten, fifteen minutes later and I told her I’d like a to go box and I would not be ordering.

Aside from all that they had really pulpy orange juice and that’s just a preference of mine. She asked me if I wanted coffee. I told her no. She brought me coffee. No...
