Important wedding review Had our wedding in the function hall, very nice atmosphere and food was wonderful with the buffet option, many guests commented on the food (Mediterranean chicken was the game winner). Wedding day was lovely, guests all commented on it. HOWEVER, leading up to the wedding, a lot of the contact was exhausting and frustrating, sometimes emailing multiple times to get an answer, 3 different people were in contact with us and there were 4 emails used, as you can imagine that gets a little chaotic, in hindsight CCing all four emails every time would've been the way to go. We would email one person and another would respond on their behalf, once or twice is fine but it seemed to happen enough that their communication was getting lost. It wasn't all that bad but the frustrating parts obviously overshadow the good. Pretty frustrating, with communication I'd give a 5/10 maybe? Also, when we arrived for the reception in the back room, our little appetizer table WAS set up but no one greeted us and we would not have known where the bathroom was (it's in the office) if my wife had not been in a wedding there previously. Buffet food for our wedding 9.5/10 Hors d'oeuvres 8.8/10 Servers from what I noticed 9/10 Atmosphere 8.5/10
And then we attended a wedding there last week, atmosphere was good, servers were pretty good, all was good except the meal... It was the plated option for steak, mashed potatoes and a veg, veg was good, mashed potatoes were not great, steak was cooked medium rare which was nice but was so bland we doused it with salt and pepper... It was very bland. Also we had told the bride about our communication problems so she was very specific and detailed in her emails and it seemed to do her well.
If I could recommend anything based on our experience, I would say definitely do the buffet over the plated and be very specific and number/bullet your email points like our friend did.
Also shout out to the blonde server I believe named Jen, at both weddings we noticed she was our favorite server which means she was definitely doing something right to be noticed both times. Very friendly, very nice and does her job with a...
Read moreWhat can I say about Fratellos? Sometimes you want to go out and you don’t care about being healthy, you don’t care about eating right, you just want something tasty and comforting. When that need has an Italian bent, Fratellos is your place. The atmosphere is nice, being situated in one of Manchester’s old Mill buildings, and the food is very tasty, but it swims in butter and cheese and other artery-clogging yummy ingredients. Still, sometimes you want that, and Fratellos is a good choice when you do.
On my last occasion to visit, we had abysmal service. We were a party of ten, there for a birthday celebration The waitress told us they didn’t have the beer my friend wanted, and then after ordering but before the drinks were brought to the table, we showed the waitress that the beer desired was indeed the first one they listed on their menu. Her response was, “Well, it is already rung in, I’ll get you that for the next one.” It was not as if there wasn’t enough time to change it, the drinks took 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Likewise, appetizers dragged and came out of the kitchen in fits and starts. They serve complimentary deep fried breadsticks with their meals and for our table of ten the waitress brought one basket of 6 or 7, until we later asked for another basket. She was friendly and polite, but we got the sense she was new and that the entire place was understaffed- a common problem these days in restaurants. This was a Wednesday night so I am not sure how they would do on a weekend.
I’ll say, we still had a great time. The food was delicious and the company superb, but the service was just a tad short of what I normally see when I venture over to Fratellos. By the way, in the summertime they have a nice outdoor deck which is great on a summer evening and they used to have, not sure if it is still the case, live music some nights on the second...
Read moreFirst time visit and it would definately be the last. We were visiting Downtown Manchester for an anniversary weekend / overnight hotel stay to see a concert. We googled an italian restaurant . This came up . We liked the atmosphere of the building and the waiter was friendly and attentive . The food however , was Is super disappointing! Basically, dry, flavorless, low quality and overpriced . The place wasn't that busy. We got there early. We ordered stuffed Mushrooms , which was basically inedible with some very dry Stuffing with gobs of melted cheese. Garlic bread looked like a few slices of toast with more gobs of melted cheese. No real garlic flavor. Presentation was pale and boring. Really really lame. I had the eggplant parm with a side of pale looking meatballs. The eggplant was four round wheels of frozen type tough , thick undercooked slices of eggplant that had an heavy deep fried oily taste . There wasn't much sauce on that or the pasta. Meatballs were super dry Is it a spongy weird texture and pale gray in color. Very unappealing. My husband's chicken parm looked a little bit better. He said the flavor was just OK. He didn't finish it which is rare for him. We barely touched the Two appetizers Which literally sucked. We didn't complain about our food Because it wasn't the waiter's fault that the food was Completely mediocre. For these folks that rave about the food here.I think most of you have never had real Italian food.
We live in Is the north shore of Massachusetts and have many great italian restaurants in and around Boston . So we know the difference. It seems like an eatery that's been around for a while that stopped caring. I had high hopes. Sadly , it was very , ...
