Frank/Tom and Lisa and Ashley all are great service people especially Frank!! I’ve been going there for as long as I can remember 30 years plus at least let’s just say as long as it’s been there! I moved away to Florida 35 years ago. I remember just about every year when I come back for Christmas which is been 32 of them I am home for 10 to 12 days and I frequent Pepe’s at least 4 times in the day and 2 to 3 times at night how to get the same thing almost every time which is a small cheeseburger and onion pizza well done! Well, of course an ice cold Michelob ultra bottle which when I walk in the establishment Frank put it in my hand before I say hello!! Now that’s service! The grinders and everything else is just as good but I just can’t live without my small cheeseburger and onion pie. Well done. !! So I will say well done Pepe’s!!!!
Keep up the good work there are a couple notable’s at work the kitchen forgive me. I can’t think of their names at this moment and there is one at this time. I won’t mention that gentleman‘s name but he should be fired. He has treated me horribly, and , anyone that knows me there will know who I’m talking about each time I get treated badly by this person, I try to talk it through and when I ask his name, he gives me a fake name and then tells me I’m not gonna give you my name. He’s the most arrogant jerk I have ever met, and the owner of this place is more than welcome to contact me I promise you this guy does not deserve a job at any place if he’s going to treat people this way because I have always and I repeat for over 20+ years been treated extremely well at this place and I can tell by the atmosphere everyone’s treated well. I can’t believe this guy works there. So with that being said, thank you for all the great food and the great atmosphere Frank you along with Tom and Lisa have made a huge difference as I venture back to Florida. I’ll see you when I come back although now that my family is gone I’m not sure how much I’ll come back , whoever is reading this you got to go to Pepboys you will not regret it. Just ask for Frank or Tom or daytime (Lisa) the bartenders. And tell them Craig sent you !!!
Ciao, for now !! Be...
Read moreWell I sometimes wonder if I will enjoy a very rare evening out at a local tavern or "adult drinking establishment" so I get nervous to mix it up from my usual places of casual cocktails and appetizers. I stumbled upon this little gem called Pepes in my travels through a small rural town called Manchester in Connecticut. It was a lovely place. Intricate detail on the menu and with the decor. Absolutely enchanting atmosphere with the most genuine and professional bartender I have ever had the pleasure of acquaintaning. His name was the "Tank." I think maybe Fred or Frankie. He was delightful. Movie star hair, body builder physique, and the charm of a thousand Joey Tribianis from that popular show Friends. I mean this guy was outstanding. He poured me a frosty bud light or so the kids call it #america light. No foam or anything! Also I was given a shot of the finest bourbon and he didn't spill a lick. I was offered a "chef's salad" and respectfully declined but his ability to suggestively up sell waa a thing of beauty. I concluded my evening with a gentle hand shake and dispensing kindly from my wallet a generous 73% tip. Trust me, it was worth it. Overall, I would like to thank that "Tank" character for a riveting experience I only will be able to recreate in my dreams. Thank you Fred, or Frankie, thank you. Sincerely....Terrance Edward Michael...
Read moreUnpredictable and inconsistent. When someone who cares is making the pizza, it shows, but sometimes you'll get something decent, sometimes you will get something absolutely inedible. We used to get the potato special pizza all the time, it's an all or nothing pizza I guess. There's either so little ricotta it's dry or so much that even after waiting 30 minutes for it to "set" it's impossible to eat or enjoy, and truly would give even the strongest dairy loving stomach pause. The broccoli last time was spoiled, so we ordered it without and put our own on at home. There were 4 tiny slices of potato on 4 pieces of the large pizza we ordered. They are literally dredged in so much dry oregano/Italian herb seasoning that they are also not tasty. The pizza we brought back no joke weighed about 5lbs, most of which was 2.5-3" thick of ricotta, and greasy cheese. The amount seems like a practical joke. Bacon was so tiny it looked like red pepper flakes, rather than an actual topping component. Since we have no idea how or what to order anymore, we will not be wasting the time being frustrated and hungry, or the energy returning for it to be made out to be "our fault" for ordering wrong. We definitely used to enjoy it occasionally in the pizza rotation, but life is too short...
