My daughter and I took my 4 year old grandson to see the Grinch. Got my tickets on line to speed up the process but the guy at the ticket desk didn't seem to know what to do with the email on my smart phone. After much confusion he sent us to theater 2 where we got settled in 3 seats together. I went to the concession counter to get popcorn where they were VERY slow. Got back to the theater finally and found out we were in the wrong theater - the very scary opening scenes of the movie Widow were scaring my grandson and my daughter was trying to rush us out. The ticket guy now sends us to theater 5 but there were not seats left together. Now my grandson is traumatized AND disappointed because we couldn't stay. While all of this was going on the people in theater 4 were now complaining that the movie Ralph Breaks the Internet was not working! And the bathrooms were not clean! The renovations that were supposed to make this place better were not obvious. I was given a refund and some slips of paper that were supposed to be passes to a movie of our choice but they were tickets to the movie we had just been deprived of. Terrible experience!!! Not planning to ever...
Read moreReached out for a charitable donation of popcorn for the school’s PTO & was told the person in charge of that would get back to me. They never did so I followed up with another phone call that I specifically requested a charitable donation of popcorn. The gentleman representative was all over the place. Talking fast but saying nothing & not comprehending what a donation was. I asked to speak to the person in charge of charitable affairs & was told they’re on maternity leave but they pop in every so often but this gentleman I was speaking to was more than capable of speaking on their behalf. After I thoroughly explained AGAIN what I was requesting, they agreed to contribute & we set an appointment to meet up so I could have them fill out a donation request form. I arrived to meet the gentleman I had spoken to only for him to be just as aloof in person. He said they didn’t do anything for free & they don’t do charity. A complete waste of time & energy. I’m very disappointed as this is the only theatre in East Hartford and if this is how operations work in regards to charity it’s not...
Read moreI CANNOT say enough good things about the Parkade Cinema. Always clean, they have updated reclining seats with cupholders. More often than not the whole theater is empty accept for myself & whoever comes with. The staff is courteous & attentive. I've never waited in line more than a couple minutes. A friend of mine rented a theater for his band to play in & it was a magnificent night for all who attended. I recommend their venue for occasions you might like to celebrate. The prices are basically what you'd expect to pay nearly 20 years ago. I went to see Ghostbusters Frozen Empire & spent less than $20 for my ticket & snacks. The location is close to several Manchester restaurants so dinner & a movie is a convenient experience too. PLEASE try them out! Id be so upset if they closed due to lack of attendance. We all complain about rising prices, this is one place that hasn't gone up & is still very affordable. I'd like to thank the owners & staff for giving me a good place to enjoy a movie. I've been going there for more than 20 years now & it keeps getting...
