This is scam! They didn't have a proper receipt and set the price arbitrarily. please check your bill before you pay. I am writing this review to warn others about my deeply disappointing experience at Pho 99. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant due to two major issues: deceptive pricing and terrible customer service. 1. Incorrect Pricing / Overcharged Upon receiving the bill, I was shocked to see that I was charged 20.50 for the beef noodle This is significantly higher than the price listed on the menu, which clearly showed 16.99 When I brought this to the staff's attention, they were dismissive," "claimed the menu was old," "refused to correct the charge, said it was a mistake but still made me pay the higher price. And he said 20.50 was the price after the tax but I did the math Connecticut sales tax is 7.35% after tax is 18.23. This is a dishonest practice and feels like a scam targeting customers who don't double-check their bill. 2. Poor Attitude and Service: From the moment we walked in, the service was lacking. The staff was unwelcoming, ignored us for long periods," or "visibly impatient. The man forced us to order oxtail noodle but when we said we dont like he seems like we are cheap. When we had a simple question about the menu, we were met with a sigh and a short, unhelpful answer. The overall demeanor of the staff made the meal feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I will not be returning and would advise others to check their bills carefully if they choose to dine here. There are many other excellent Vietnamese restaurants that value honesty and their customers

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The prices are completely ridiculous — it’s somehow more expensive than upscale Vietnamese restaurants in Hawaii. I went and ordered lunch for a medium bowl with a drink cost me $40, which is insane for the portion size and quality. That means the bowl is around $30 alone and the drink is $10 dollar. I even had to ask for a receipt to confirm the price, and just like other reviews said, there’s no clear price breakdown anywhere. It feels sketchy and dishonest. There are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants nearby that serve better food for half the price. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I am a professional Google reviewer and chef. I went there to eat Pho 99. They charge you $16 for medium pho and they give you only 4 to 5 pieces of meat and very little noodles, It's not worth it. They don't even know how to make Authentic pho. Pho is an art . It takes 8 to 10 hours to just make broth. Vietnamese takes lots of pride making this dish because it is their signature dish. I think people who are writing reviews never ate authentic pho. I don't recommend this place for pho. I haven't try other dishes will do that. I will hunt for better pho place and inform you guys. Stay well. Eat healthy..

I wasn’t planning on writing this review, but after seeing so many others with the same complaints — and noticing that ownership has taken zero action — I felt compelled to share my experience. It’s simply not fair for future patrons to walk in without knowing what to expect.

This place is extremely overpriced for what it offers. Most appetizers are close to $20, yet they’re served on paper and styrofoam plates. The banh mi was especially disappointing — the bread tasted like it came from Walmart, nowhere near an authentic French baguette. The meat seemed microwaved and was drenched in strange, unidentifiable sauces. Overall, the quality is poor and the prices are unjustifiable.

And then there’s the oxtail pho — $30 for a bowl? There’s no reason oxtail should be “market price” when the meat is readily available at any grocery store for a fraction of the cost.

I really didn’t want to write this review, but after so many similar complaints with zero accountability from the owners, it’s clear that constructive feedback isn’t...

This place is straight robbery I’m sorry to say bc I like the owners I use to eat here when they still had east Hartford location and it was always good experience for a somewhat reasonable price but they have proven to be way too greedy even with inflation this place is out of control prices and they do not give you the amount of food they should be for what they charge my go to use to be coconut shrimp and large pho the shrimp started at $14 when I first tried them now it’s $19 that is outrageous and pho was $12 now it’s $19 so If I went there now for my go to we are talking $40 and with tax and if you chose to tip it would be more…come on pho 99!! I honestly don’t know how they stay in business with competitors go to pho 501 in east Hartford it is hands down best spot in CT this place should close and if you go here you should know you are getting robbed I walked out when I went there to find out what their new prices are I looked at the menu and literally got up and walked out shame...
