Center Springs Park — Attraction in Manchester

This place was windy today, but the people were kind if not because of the possible drugs they were on lol. Some seemed like they were on some kind of upper... but anyway, they were kind to me and my car didn't get broken in to (I have a nice looking car). Generally, people who disc golf are kind, courteous, and helpful. They only want to have a good time and possibly hit a joint and/or drink a beer or four. I don't know much about CT or its cities, so I didn't know what to expect. Overall, watch out for hole 1! I lost a disc there and almost lost my favorite disc but I found it after searching a while. Liked the course. Well laid out and easy to find the next tee (aside from 9...lol....never found it. Found the basket, so improvised lol) ... Nice area. Good for walking and fishing, also. Only drawback was broken glass everywhere. No big deal if wearing shoes, but careful with kids or dogs. It's a shame people can't pick up after themselves. Not sure how so much broken glass accumulates, but it's a free course, so probably it's just hard to maintain. Nice paved trail for walking. The glass was mostly through the grass and trees. The rest of the park looks nice for gatherings...gazebo and picnic areas. I'll be returning for sure! (Gotta find the tee...

The park itself is five stars. Great walking path and very scenic. What ISN'T five stars is how people treat it. The amount of trash, homeless campers, graffiti and drug paraphernalia on the ground is staggering. The common picnic area is a disaster too. I've volunteered many hours of my free time after work helping to clean the park up and it's frustrating to see the lack of respect for the property. The town needs to step in and return this park to its former glory. Kick the homeless out, step up police patrols to stop these thugs from dealing drugs here and impose harsher littering fines.
