We went this past Sunday for the 1st time, and walked into an attractive restaurant with very good service and nice music. We sat in the bar area and started off with the eggplant rollatini and pumpkin arancini. The eggplant was tasty and ricotta velvety-smooth. The eggplant was sliced a little thicker than I prefer, however, and wasn't quite cooked all the way through. The creamy sherry vinaigrette drizzled atop the arancini (tasty as well) was sparse also. The chicken piccata was very good and contained plenty of capers. Unfortunately, the veal parmesan was pounded so thin it was completely overtaken by the thick breading, which was also overly salty. The marinara sauce was very good, however. I was pleasantly surprised when told I could substitute for any pasta they had, including gnocchi. I also wasn't told there was a $3 upcharge but it does stand to reason I suppose. I was given 6 gnocchi in a little soup bowl drowned in sauce. It resembled soup. They couldn't be picked up with a fork, falling apart with each attempt. The gnocchi had an overly creamy custard-like consistency. Not ideal. The creme brulee and peach cobbler were great. No free soda or iced tea refills, however, which is rare. Not sure we'll be back.

Great food and cocktails, classy atmosphere, and attentive service! Our table ordered cocktails including the Blood Orange Martini, Guava Lava, Mango Paper Plane, and Just Peachy - all were excellent and well-balanced, with the fruity notes in each doing their job well. Certainly not too strong, which is perfect if that's your preference. Warm bread for the table with dipping oil and herbs is very nice, as was the beet salad, which they happily split for us and was unique and flavorful with its whipped ricotta, goat cheese, pistachios, and elderflower honey. Entrees continued to impress: veal piccata and Francesco were both delicious with outstanding sauces, as was the risotto carbonara with chicken. Pork chop saltimbocca was massive and also masterfully prepared, ordering medium as recommended had it come out juicy and tender, not dry like sometimes happens with pork. Overall, definitely a great choice for Italian in Manchester; we're from out of town, but it's no wonder it's a local favorite!

Way over priced food Quality doesn’t match price. I’ll be honest appetizer shrimp flavor was on point spicy sweet awesome but shrimp was over cooked rubber 13.00 dollars for three pieces of rubber shrimp. Steak flavor awesome steak way under cooked had to be sent back then they brought it back all my mushrooms where gone. Now dessert order chocolate cake 20 minutes to get a sliver of 9.00 dollar dry hard almost frozen little piece of cake. Now Service bus boy was better then are lazy waiter manger was very polite. Would I go back again “not even for a free meal honest we spent 105.00 dollars for two people at that price Your service and food better be on point as well as your Service. People work hard for their money so when you take people money for a service it better be good

Easter Brunch FAIL. Last minute the day before Easter, we switched reservations from a upscale Italian restaurant downtown Hartford to this place. We booked a 2:30 reservation. We arrived right on time and were almost immediately sat. We put our drink order in and waited to be give direction to go to the buffet, assuming the server would tell us what's being offered and to begin our brunch. She never came back so we flagged her down- she told us to go ahead. At this point it was 2:45ish.

Despite still accepting 2:30 reservations, the restaurant had absolutely no intention of providing fresh.buffet food for their customers. Essentially what was left was the scraps and crusted pans left behind by all those who got to enjoy their Easter meal. What very little remained was either cold or had started to dry out from being out. Yet, we were still paying $50/adult and $15/kid. We were a party of 6, 4 adults 1 kid, and 1 non eating/paying toddler.

We got back to the table with our first plates. It was just before 3 at this point.

At 3:05, our server came to our table and told us "last call for buffet, we are closing it to prepare for dinner now."

Wait, what? I literally couldn't believe the words that had just left her mouth.

The audacity this place had to take a reservation at 2:30 just to serve pan scrapings/scraps for our family's ($300+) Easter Brunch and then RUSH us through our meal is beyond me.

I deeply regret changing my family's original plans today. To say this Easter dinner was a disappointment is an understatement. Our family will...

I cannot believe it is taking me this long to try out this restaurant we did not know that it's a good idea to make reservations but they accommodated us anyways making us feel very welcome from the get-go. Once we sat down we were offered drinks appetizers which we ordered and were more than pleased with my wife's wine was delectable the appetizers were mouth watering and tongue pleasingly delicious. By the time the main course came we were already feeling full but could not help but to dig in just a little bit to try the main course and were no less pleased with this than any other part of the meal.

That being said what really struck us as very very unique was the incredibly attentive service we received from our waitress and no less than three other wait staff at no time did we not feel like we are being treated as a king and a queen with so much attention and care taboot. Our waitress was very personable and anybody we came in to contact with was polite in a way that I have not seen in well over 25 years at any establishments that we go to and I mean no disrespect to them.

I would highly recommend trying out this establishment it is a place where you go to enjoy fine dining maybe a fine cocktail Or glass of wine maybe not but overall it is a place to relax while you enjoy an incredibly delicious meal in a very relaxed environment surrounded by people that actually care about their patrons.

Thank you to all staff there that made our evening so enjoyable we have not forgotten it and we look forward to...

Celebrated a birthday dinner at Trattoria Toscana last night. We were a party of 5 and even though our table wasn't ready when we arrived, we only had to wait a few minutes. For a Monday night, the restaurant was very busy, which is always a good sign. Our water glasses were filled almost immediately and our server came over just a few minutes later to welcome us and get our drink orders. We opted to just get entrees and dessert so we skipped the apps. Among the meals ordered were the salmon, the scallop special, eggplant parm and two pasta dishes. One thing to note...if you are a vegetarian it is not the easiest menu to order from. Most of the entress, even the salmon, has pancetta in it so just be aware. The only real option for meatless meals are the salads or the eggplant parm. A vegetarian pasta dish would have been a nice addition but that is the only issue we had with the menu. The food was delicious and the perfect amount. Everything was cooked to order and came out in a very reasonable amount of time. The bread they gave us was also delicious. For dessert we had cappuccino, tiramisu and creme brulee. We had no complaints about the dessert...it was all wonderful. While they knew we were celebrating a birthday there was no acknowledgment with the desserts (candle or special dessert for the birthday girl) but that is just a minor thing and in no way changed our experience. We would definitely return and...
