SOS Fried Chicken & Shawarma — Restaurant in Manchester

We were so excited to hear about a halal place nearby. We ordered Philly Cheese Steak sub, Chicken Zinger sub, and Spicy Chicken burgers. Alas! Disappointed. Food quality is mediocre.

Their paper menu says the Philly Cheese Steak sub has beef, sautéed onions and peppers with melted cheese. Take a look at the picture I've shared. You won't see any cheese in their Cheese Steak. Instead, you'll find lettuce & tomatoes (which weren't mentioned anywhere). I've added a picture of their paper menu to show their description of the Philly.

The Zinger was DRY. But I think many people have already mentioned that already. The Spicy chicken was not spicy. Maybe seasoned with black pepper. It was the spicy sauce on the chicken that was meant to make it hot (not spicy), which was OK. But their menu says, "Spicy Chicken Patty With A Kick", and that is not true.

I always give a restaurant a second chance. So I will try them again after some time, giving them a chance to improve and fix these issues. I will order the same stuff next time again. Will then adjust the star rating accordingly.

For now, they ruined my Friday dinner with lettuce and tomatoes in my Philly Steak & Cheese. So 1 star it is until I see any...

First off, super glad this place is here in Manchester. I really hope they take the critical reviews seriously and improve.

This was our first time trying as big shawarma fans but we were a little discouraged by the platter pricing. Thankfully UberE had a BOGO promotion that made it make sense.

We tried the chicken shish, shawarma wrap, and 4 pc fried chicken, picked it up and ate at home. I’m gonna be honest. The chicken and fries were fast food quality. The wrap was alright, nothing to write home about unfortunately and I wish they’d include details about it in the menu because it was lamb and onions (which I have to pick out). There was more wrap than meat. The chicken shish dinner was good, albeit dry with some burnt bits, but the sauce and rice compensated well for that. The salad was fresh and made well. But overall for the quantity and cost comparing it to similar spots nearby it is definitely overpriced. The white garlic sauce is fire.

We plan to give it one more shot maybe in a couple months before deciding to write...

Terrible service! I ordered over phone and they repeated the order but they messed up my order. Secondly when I ordered they said it’ll take 15mins but I went there after 30mins then they were looking for my order and said they need 2 more mins. Then after 15mins they made the order but not everything was ready and when I said I also ordered other things they look at me like I am lying and they were pissed off! Such a horrible service and behavior. I am not recommending this place even for trying.

Food Quality: food quality is not up to the mark. Compare to other nearby options those are far better than them. Too much salty food and they don’t have proper hot sauce.

They are working too many people on the store but service and food prep time is too long. And they behave like they don’t care about service and customer.

Overall: I’ll give 1 out of 5 in rating!

Lastly- I was excited to have a Halal option near me but after getting this food and specially services I am really disappointed! I really hope they’ll improve...
