I was truly disappointed in service and quality of food at Fat Spoon this morning (11/09/24). I am usually very satisfied with the food at Fat Spoon. This morning the omelet came out burnt. Black marks burnt, not just well done. The toast was also very over done with black marks on it as well. I could break off enough to the toast to eat it but the omelet was inedible. At the beginning of the meal, I had to flag down a bus boy to find our waitress as I had not seen her since she dropped and dashed. When she finally came to our table, I showed her how the omelet was burnt, her response, "That is no bueno." (She was not Hispanic). I asked for bacon to not hold the rest of my party up waiting for a new omelet to be made. I ate the bacon and toast, and I personally removed the omelet from my plate. My friend's eggs were almost under-cooked, and her toast looked like plain bread. I flagged our waitress down again to ask for a refill on coffee but never was offered a refill on my empty water glass. When the bill came, I was surprised to find the price of the omelet on the bill. I flagged her down again to ask her about the item. She said she would check on it as she huffed away. She returned with a discount of $5 saying the rest was to cover the bacon and toast ($8). My friend picked up the check and was charged a service fee for using her card. I know this has become standard practice in many businesses, but they usually explain this before charging your credit card so that you will be aware of the expense. There was no explanation. The bathroom was clean but there was no toilet paper on the rolls in one of the stalls, just a roll sitting on the back of the toilet. The paper towels were not loaded in the dispenser but just sitting on the counter. Before this visit, I would have recommended this restaurant whole-heartedly but now I am not so sure. No Bueno, as the waitress...
Read moreTried to dine in this morning. Nobody was at the host stand, so we stood by the “please wait to be seated” sign. ( standing too long is a problem for my disabled Mother ). Finally someone says, from the opposite side of the restaurant to “just sit wherever “ We made our way to the table, and watched as 3 other tables came in and sat after us. To my disbelief, the two servers immediately began taking the orders of all 3 of those tables, and my Mother and I had not even been acknowledged after we were told to seat ourselves. We had an hour and 15 minutes to have some breakfast before we needed to go for my Mom’s procedure at the hospital, so we decided that we would be better off to leave and find somewhere else since all of those orders were now ahead of ours. I did see that the servers were also bussing and cleaning their own tables, so I realize you must be a little short staffed —- at least I’m hoping that was the problem. Anyway, I was extremely disappointed in this experience at your restaurant. We have dined with you in the past with no issues, but I think we will find more accommodating places for...
Read moreA family group of 10 went on this Sunday around noon. We were seated at around 12:30 (which is fine-large party). My food never arrived even though it was mentioned a few times). Everyone else’s food looked good and they were finishing up (we had somewhere to be for a 4D unltrasound of my first grand babies-twins). I finally just walked to the wait staff standing near the end of the bar near the kitchen and asked them if I could have my food in a to-go box since I missed eating with everyone else. My burger and fries eventually showed up in a styrofoam box just before they brought our checks. The price was still the same even though I didn’t get to eat it until 5 hours later. I really can’t speak for how good the food was because of that. I was...
