Talk about knocking it out of the park! Me and a buddy from out of town stopped in on a whim one day for a late lunch. Immediately thought we were in the wrong place because the atmosphere is very nice looking and we were in shorts and flip flops. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super nice. She assured us we were just fine and were NOT out of place ;). Took a look at the menu and realized the prices were not bad at all so we decided to stay. The music was playing but not too loud. which is always nice because I can't stand to hear people chewing food and other people's conversations. We ordered a beer, pizza and calamari. For starters, the calamari was a huge serving and fried to absolute perfection. So crispy and tender, one of the best I've ever had and I've had them at many places. By the time I took the picture, we had eaten half the order of calamari. The pizza, wow. The dough was flavorful, the crust had just the right amount of char and the toppings were perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better pizza. Our server was really good at the bar so I can't speak for everyone else but our service was great. Its about an hour drive from our house but I can't wait to take my family back here.

I visited Leonardo's Trattoria & Pizzeria for Lunch Thursday. The place is located in a strip mall so parking is tight. I waited at the door for 10 mins at the host stand before I approached one of the servers. After my guest got there the bar tender (extremely busy) served us wine. They do not have liquors just fyi. Seating is a bit congested but in an Italian quaint type of way. While the entry to the establishment was not very friendly, once seated our server was swift , polite, charming and made the experience exceptional. The only reason I give 5 stars is because their food is legit premium , high quality , made in house and worth the visit.. The wait staff could work on their approach for guest when they are busy but all in all food is delicious and staff are working not just existing. The crowd is old money, younger family couples with kids, and older gents and women socializing so the atmosphere is classic. Would recommend but would suggest you have patience during their rush hour and or do lunch and dinner either earlier or later than the crowd so your not standing at the door in front of the entire restaurant's guest while waiting for seating. 😉 @Mandeville @Italian @lunch

We stopped into Leonardo’s for lunch after seeing a friend’s recommendation on social media. As we entered the restaurant, I noticed it was busy, but not uncomfortably so. When we were seated, the waitress brought fresh bread and prepared an olive oil dip. We ordered a couple of glasses of Sicilian red wine, which we enjoyed. For starters, we ordered small salads. The Caesar dressing was very tasty and the salad complements (red onions, an olive and tomato) were just right. For our meal we ordered a kid’s pizza, which was big enough to split. The pizza was incredible. The crust had a nice crunch and the tomato sauce was different - in a good way. We also ordered the cheese ravioli. It was a good portion and the sauce was outstanding. I had the salmon piccata. The salmon was cooked to medium well and was tender. The linguine and piccata sauce were good and paired well with the salmon. There is a bakery attached to the restaurant from which the desserts are sourced. We ordered a few gelatos and a couple of cannolis. All were excellent. The service was great considering how busy the restaurant was. We enjoyed our experience.

Absolutely enjoyed everything about this place. Takes alot to impress us, especially on a first visit when they don’t even know that! Our server Jenn was attentive and pleasant (as were the rest of the wait staff). They let us know how long our wait would be, and when it looked like it may be a little longer, they came outside and told us so but still got us in on a hopping Saturday night in less time than expected. No wait a little wine couldn’t help with!

The calamari was crunchy on the outside and tender (not rubbery) on the inside. The veal parm was enough for a family of 4! Only complaint was pasta was a teeny tiny bit too done for me, but didn’t stop me from eating it. The pizza which comes in “one size fits all” was also enough for several more people! We told Jenn how much we enjoyed everything and when we told her it was our first visit and we would be back, she comped us 2 cannolis for being newbies! We had no room left to try them but have no doubts they will be as fabulous as the rest of our food. We have enough leftovers for a week! The ambiance is “cheers” friendly and we can’t wait to try more of their dishes. Excellent first impression Leonardo’s. Thank you Shelly and Jeff Sonnenberg...
