From my numerous reviews, it's obvious that I seldom if ever give a negative review, but seeing as how I was one of the very first customers of the owners original restaurant Sawadee as well as Ploy's Kitchen years later because I considered their food to be not only authentic, but amazing as well. I regarded it as a top pick for local cuisine and have regularly recommended to many people accordingly, so it truly pains me to do so now. I feel this review is rather unique in that it stems not from the food, cleanliness or an employee, but from the owner of the restaurant. During COVID they adopted a take out only business model and following that rather than returning to their prior norm of dine in & take out service, they began limiting the times/ hours that customers were allowed to dine in. I recognize that it was their decision to do this and although super inconvenient for me as a customer to remember the highly unusual day and time window limitations that dictated when paying customers were allowed sit down and enjoy their meal in the restaurant, I quietly accepted their decision and adjusted accordingly. Their loss as my visits became far less regular after this and saw fit to eat elsewhere in a town that offers so many other dining options that are far more welcoming and appreciative of my business. Seriously though, what other restaurant restricts their patrons ability to sit and enjoy their meal?? For any reason... Especially when so many restaurants are struggling to keep their doors open. So stopped by today and was greeted by paper sign on the door proclaiming that they are take out only, no dining in. After walking in I am offered to place a take out order and politely refused because for one, if I'm going to pay restaurant prices for food, I'm going to sit down and eat at the restaurant. Upon expressing my opinion of how I felt it was not good for their business to limit dining in and were likely losing customers like me who only eat out. The owners response was essentially...Sorry, I do not have time or the help to serve customers in the restaurant anymore, so take out only. After which I simply pointed out that they could have their customers order what they wanted, pay for it in advance, call their name or number, hand it to them and they sit down, eat and throw away their trash on the way out the door as they say goodbye, just like 75% of all the other restaurant's do every single day... Followed by Sorry again even as I made my way to the exit feeling disrespected and that my business was not only unappreciated but no longer welcome. In closing as a business owner myself, I want to remind the owners that your restaurant solely exists to provide service to it's customers and without those customers there is no business. I wish the owners of Ploy's all the best, but I will no longer patronize or recommend the your restaurant. Note that I know if at least 10 others who stopped doing business with this restaurant for the very same reason as me and I'm sure there are many more, because most people who order food from restaurants actually like to eat said food at the restaurant... otherwise what's the point? For me personally, If I'm going to eat at home.. I might as well stay home, save money and make...
Read moreHorrible black mold smell. Visual roaches and mice/rats. Extremely long wait time for food preparation. That isn't all that good to begin with. Carryout orders only because I think they're afraid that you're going to see see their infestation and get sick from the mold smell. The rude lady that runs the counter is quick to get irate and yell at you if you don't want to leave a tip for your carryout order. Over all terrible experience. PS what ever you do don't squeeze the rubber chicken toy on the counter by the register or she will go nuts. These are just some of the things I have witnessed as a delivery driver over dozens of times I have been there. She is such an brutally unstable person. I have seen her fighting with so many people I dread picking...
Read moreThis wasn't our first choice of restaurants in the area, but our first choices were closed on a Sunday night and we decided to come here, glad we did. The restaurant lacks curb appeal and I'm not sure I'd stop here if I were driving by, but inside it was clean. It looks like takeout is the majority of their business, but they do allow dining in. (They serve dine in customers on paper plates and takeout containers, if that matters to you. Didn't matter to us.) The service was great, very friendly and timely. The food was also wonderful, we both had curry (Panang and massaman) served with rice and the flavors were rich and complex. I wouldn't hesitate to come back the next time I'm...
