We were hoping that this would be a wonderful experience based on the reviews and the atmosphere of the location. Hope was strong when we ordered our food even though the two people working up front were busy trying to watch a football game on a tablet instead of working the counter. All of that faded when we tried the actual donuts. These were the most bland and tasteless donuts we have had and they didn't even taste fresh. The bacon on top of the maple bacon donut was absolutely disgusting. It literally tasted like grocery store salad bacon, it was chewy and not crispy and at times completely inedible and I had to spit it out. The trash cans were overflowing and the bathroom was a complete wreck and disgusting. Their coffee was also disappointing and tasted cheap. I would not recommend this place for donuts and would look elsewhere in town there are much better options that are not as flashy because they put their love into the food and not into merchandise that overflows the entire seating area.

Hey, Hey, Varsity! In Manhattan, KS, there’s a little area outside of Kansas State University called Aggieville. It’s filled with bars, restaurants, cute shops and a donut shop called Varsity. In this 1929 building, the former drugstore stills holds its dated charm that’s a breath of fresh air to all that is “new.” From the moment you walk in, the hand-laid mosaic tile floor, old wood cabinets, shelving, barstools and booths make you feel right at home. Varsity serves traditional donuts and quirky top sellers like, Oreos-and cream-topped Fat Tire, bacon maple or with character faces like Cookie Monster. Besides donuts, Varsity sells a wonderful selection of T-shirts, bumper stickers, patches, buttons and patches. I like the fact that they also rent bikes or have an array of board games that offers you, friends and families to stay awhile and enjoy one another’s company. Overall: This small shop has a wonderful small town feel that invites you to take a moment to gather your thoughts and just breath.

Fun place to get donuts. The donuts are more on the cute side. They taste like pretty much any other donut with the exception of having some flavors. The shop itself is very cute and they have a ton of tshirts. There is a ping pong table and games. Would be a fun place for kids. It is unique to this town. We got the thin mint, cannonball, the christmas tree and the malted one. All tasted pretty similar with only a few changes of flavor. I would go back for a fun sweet treat.

First of all, it was my first time coming in and ordering from here. There was a guy at the counter and a young lady. (One other person off in the distance packing boxes). I told them it was my first time there and that I wasn’t sure how it worked if they had any deals on dozens or what. I kid you not the guy stood there quiet as hell for a good few seconds shrugged his shoulders and looked over at the young lady like are you gonna say anything type of face. He never even spoke a word as I’m standing there looking stupid… The girl didn’t even seem that interested or that she wanted to be there, neither of them did. At this point I’m annoyed and just want to leave. Nothing makes someone not want to come in, especially being their first time, and to made to feel like the workers don’t want to be there or help answer questions.

Donuts were good. Unfortunately the customer service was horrible...
