Absolutely the best! Looking for some really amazing freshly cooked food with great service! This is the place! We were tired of the standard diner food (huge portions of low quality food) and fast food chains (you can only have so many burgers) so we thought we'd try this Greek restaurant based on the reviews. Wow! So glad we did! Food was so freshly cooked, uniquely delicious and well priced that we are heading backing again tomorrow before we leave the area.
Don't miss the Moussaka, we've had it all over the world and this dish was done perfectly! Blend of spices, meat and eggplant was just the way it should be. The pita bread is freshly made on the spot and what a difference that makes! Warm, fluffy on the inside and browned on the outside served with homemade tzatziki. And the fries. Don't miss the fries! Golden brown, double fried, crispy on the outside, perfectly done on the inside, they complemented the moussaka perfectly.
The Greek feta salad with falafel was equally fresh and homemade, a portion big enough as a meal or perfect for two people to share.
Of the four desserts, since the main courses were so fantastic we decided to try to two desserts we've never tried and again, just amazingly done.
On top of all the great food, service was just the BEST. Andrew - waiter, server, cashier and as we saw as they closed, cleaner - effusively loves what he does and that makes such a difference! And Peter, the owner, has such a wonderful back story to starting up the restaurant and his love for creating perfect Greek food. We really enjoyed getting to know him as we sat at the outside tables and enjoyed the beautiful evening and setting PA sun. Looking forward to going back again tomorrow to try all the items we...
Read moreIf only I could give 6 stars for this place! My hubby and I have been visiting the area over the weekend and decided to try Freshly Greek having read all the rave reviews. We second all the 5-star reviews! The restaurant’s modest facade and location within a strip mall belies the standard and level of what the restaurant offers in terms of food and service. From the moment we were greeted by Andrew, the host, with the warmest welcome I’ve ever received at a restaurant in recent memory, to the excellent food which you can tell was prepared with heart and passion, and ingredients consciously selected for their quality and freshness, to the attention and friendliness of the owner. We ordered the Greek Salad with Falafel, the Moussaka which came with the French Fries, Pita and tzatziki. I was delighted that the salad was fresh and crisp and the falafels, made from scratch daily, were excellent. The homemade pita and tzatziki were so good and fresh. The Fries - omg…I was blown away; I’m normally not a huge fan of French Fries and am super picky about them given the calories they carry but these were amazing and totally worth the calories - not greasy at all, perfect crisp on the outside and tender in the middle. Yum! We ended the meal with a couple of desserts (all made in-house) that were recommended to us (hence I didn’t note and know how to spell their Greek names) and they were both delicious. One was 4 fried dough balls drizzled with honey and cinnamon - scrumptious, and the other was a custard with phyllo pastry, again delicious! All in all, a definite 5 star (or more :)) experience! Kudos to the...
Read moreGood Evening...I don't normally give reviews to any site, but I thought I would do it because I like small-businesses than the chain restaurants. In fact, I go out of my way to never enter "chain" places...I believe they do nothing but squeeze out the real local places, which are the best because local places don't 'standarize' their menus...And they use much better ingredients...Most of the time, too, they are almost identical in prices to chain places (with more servings)...So, when my brother and i were contemplating when to go to "Kava" or this place, I told my brother flat out that I would only eat at a local place...He said "kava" was good, but I told him I would find another Mediterranean style place...And I came upon this new joint, which had only been there 8 months...And, wow...What great food...And despite the beauty of the design of the inside of the place and the good food, what will always keep me going back is not this...It is the people running it...So, I met a man tonight by the name of DJEAN, who was a Frenchman, and, wow...He was taking orders for people, he was cooking food...He was doing everything...And, with all the things happening, he was kind, courteous, and extremely accommodating...With all of this happening, he seems like a very standup guy...and I couldn't believe he wasn't the owner of the place...
*(and if the owner reads this, please give this DJean man a Raise immediately...)
I will return for the great food served, the fact that it is a local place, and the hard work put in by the man, Djean (I believe that's how you spell his French name)...
take care of...
