Tower Tavern — Restaurant in Manitowoc

This place has really stepped it up. I used to live here and I would often overlook this hole in the wall when thinking of either a place to eat or drink. The last time I was in here was over a year ago, and my experience was terrible. A particular staff member was so overly rude and condescending that another newer staff member who met me outside later actually apologized for her co-workers behavior. We sat and talked about the service industry, and the importance of customer service in business, as I own a service business myself. It was a pleasant conversation. The servers name was Tiana, and I remember being blown away by her business accumen at the time and somehow she diffused the situation with class.

Fast forward a year, I was genuinely happy to see her face in here when I stopped today for some food to go. She was extremely attentive to every patron present. Burger was okay. Fries were served hot I thought this part of Wisconsin was full of friendly people. Not this place. Bartenders must hate their jobs because I didn't observe then being friendly to anyone. None of them thank the customers. I heard one customer thank a bartender and all she said was "you're welcome." Money is getting harder to earn. You can get bar food all over this town. Is it too much to ask these days to have a friendly staff? You'd think that business owners would be GRATEFUL that people are handing over their money. Maybe teach that to the staff to appreciate their customers or go get a job where they don't have to deal...

Service wasn't the friendliest and the cook working was taking forever to make the food just seemed to not care and seemed to had an attitude. Food took about 30 minutes to be cooked even tho it wasn't busy and honestly the food doesn't even look appetizing, the chips for the spinach and artichoke dip are barely cooked, the dip itself looked gross and the liquid was starting to separate, there is barely any sauce on the wings, and the mini tacos look halfway decent.
