So, I had gone to River Rocks maybe once or twice before with a friend. Yesterday (Easter), I had gone in myself, after church. Anyway, I go in and I start talking to the kind staff who is going to take my order. They answer my questions, are forthcoming about up charges for different types of milk, they give me good ideas, they compliment me, I compliment them. Just a beautiful humbling interaction. I notice the painting -I observe things, so naturally this giant tree on the window is a pinpoint, my eye is automatically drawn to it. It’s so calming. I sit down next to it so I can see what’s happening outside. Not much, as it’s Easter, not too much commotion. I hear my name. I thank the staff behind the counters and go to say goodbye to the staff who helped with my order, they’re currently busy (I didn’t catch their name🥺)… so I was just going to walk out.. Well before I walk out, the staff says “Bye Shawna!” And I was like “AHH! This kind person remembered my name!” “Goodbye have a good day.. Thank you”… Thank you for being an extra light on Easter which also happened to be my birthday this year. You really helped me to remember even more good about the world that day. I pray that you and River Rocks will be tremendously blessed along your way🌳🤎 Great...
Read moreI enjoyed the atmosphere and visuals of the cafe very, bright and cute little tables. inside and outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly and very welcoming. However, my group group and I were very disappointed by the food and drinks. I give a score out of 5 below.
Affogato (1/5) My biggest disappointment was THIS. It was served in a small glass jar that was 1/3 filled with what looked like express on with cream mixed in. There was hardly ANY ice cream to accompany the two shots of espresso ! The little tablespoon of ice cream it did have was melted that I thought they used whipping cream.
Latte (3/5) I wasn’t too impressed. the presentation was good but the taste was nothing special. I’ve had much better.
Quiche (3/5) Over all the quiche tasted good but portion kind of small and the extra moist (almost gooey) texture is not my preference.
Smoothie bowl (2/5) I can’t remember the flavor we ordered as I’m writing this review a day later. We were all disappointed in the smoothie bowl. It tasted bland. When I went to put my dirty dish in the dirty dish bin, I noticed someone had put their unfinished Açaí bowl in there. I must not have been the only one who thought it was bland.
Gluten Free Cookie (4/5) The only thing that was actually good.
I would not come here again for food. If I ever came back to the area I would either look elsewhere or stop in only for a basic...
Read more— 15 minutes for a reheated sandwich? Keep it.
Apparently, this place believes in suspenseful storytelling — because I spent my entire break today wondering if I’d ever get the breakfast sandwich I paid for. Spoiler alert: I didn’t.
I ordered my usual coffee and English muffin sandwich (scrambled egg, bacon, spinach — nothing wild). Paid. Waited. Watched people who came after me get served and leave. At minute 15, I asked, “Is my sandwich being heated?” The reply: “Please wait a little longer.” Sure. Why not. Maybe it was in the oven next to their sense of urgency.
Eventually, I grabbed my coffee and walked out — because standing around hungry, ignored, and disrespected wasn't really on my to-do list.
I didn’t get breakfast. But I did get a reminder that this place doesn’t value my time. So thanks for...
