Za's Pizza — Restaurant in Mankato

I'm so pissed off right now. What a disgrace to Politos which was an amazing place. The pizza was thick and crusty and the flavor was not good. Garlic knots were the same. It's also so expensive! $21 for two slices, two drinks, and garlic knots.

The worst part was that the guy serving pizza was watching us (in person or on the cameras). He stopped by one time and asked if my pizza was burnt. I said no whatever it's fine (it wasnt I was just trying to be nice). Then he stopped by a second time when I was done eating and said the same thing and I got pissed off and told him, "why are you watching us eat?". This is how I knew they were watching me. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE. I am seriously so disgusted.

Update after their response: What that actual heck?? You think I'm on drugs?? What the heck is wrong with you?????? I was trying to have a nice dinner with my wife on our anniversary at a nice pizza restaurant. The food was so bad and all you did was keep bothering us about it. Look at how many reviews I do, I am a sober freaking person who does honest reviews. Your restaurant is disgusting, as an owner I feel SO BAD for you that you can't take a constructive review, and you ruined what was supposed to be a good night. Unfortunately a lot of food at kwik trip tastes a lot better than your food. You will be getting a call about this and I expect an apology and a full refund for this entire meal. I wanted to like Za's but unfortunately it was subpar at best. I got a 14" pizza and it tasted... fine. Like it wasn't bad, but it really wasn't great either. And while they claim to be NY Style crust it doesn't really hold up to that promise with average sized slices that are drowning in way too much mozzarella. The worst part about the whole operation that I found out once I got there to pick up the pizza, and then looked at their online presence, is that a ton of their ads and artwork even on their window is AI generated imagery, which is unfortunate to see (no shortage of real artists in Mankato you can source art from!).

I know that with this location the true purpose of this pizza is to provide a late night slice to drunk people, and for that it may hit its mark, but otherwise there are much better...

Really nice remodel. Folks were quite nice. I like New York style big slice, floppy pizza, but I found this to be quite bad. Pizza looked like it was left on display for a while, which wasn't that appetizing tbh, but not a deal breaker--after all it's essentially street food. I tried bbq chicken and pepperoni. Unfortunately, the sauce was just waaaay too sweet on both and overpowered any flavor. 11 bucks for 2 slices and a pop is too much when you can get virtually a whole pizza from toppers for the same price.
