2 Neighbor's Southern Chicken — Restaurant in Mansfield

Heard the buzz on this new food place, so me and friends checked it out. This was a Saturday mid-afternoon, and it was busy.

We had heard the greens and Mac and cheese is a must try. However, was told no more greens or Mac and Cheese, this was before my friend paid for both. We did not get to try the greens, but did have the Mac and cheese. And the drink cooler was practically empty, no bottled water just soda and selection very limited.

Overall, the food was good the catfish needed a bit more seasoning, and the fries were good could taste the fried chicken on the fries. I got the 2pc catfish with fries.

Friend's orders and comments on the food: Leg and thigh, Mac and cheese, sprite - food okay, chicken has decent seasoning for their taste.

2 Neighborhood specials -2 wings, 2 catfish and 2 sides 1 order had mac and cheese and coleslaw, - catfish needed more seasoning, chicken small not a lot of meat and the coleslaw very good and could tell it was made fresh. The Mac and cheese was okay not something they would get again.

2nd order had mac and cheese and potato salad - same comments on the seasonings for the catfish, did not like the mac and cheese and shared the potato salad a bit chunky for decent.

The seating is limited and avoid the table in front of the order area, you will feel crowded as people come into place orders. There is not a good queuing line for order placement or pick up.

To begin, I will give credit the food was good. I purchased the 3 wings and opted for Mac and cheese instead of the fries and purchased the buttercake. Now, there were people sitting apparently waiting for their order but no line (some irritate). I purchased my food and upon giving me the receipt she advised 30 to 45 mins. This should had been advised prior to taking my payment. (As they advise 15 min, which is reasonable). However, I made the most of it. I literally went to Sams, came back and the order still wasn't ready. It literally took 51 minutes for 3 pieces of chicken and mac and cheese. Though I understand everything is fresh you are serving two meats, chicken and fish. It should not take that long to fill an order. Also, when my order did come up, I'm standing to side its just sitting there because the lady (who knew I was waiting) didn't call the name in the bag. I got to the car and my cake wasn't in bag. I was initially advised they were out and didn't count correctly but more were in the back, so no refund was needed. I truly recommend more training for the cashier. The lady whom I think may have been the owner or manager was so pleasant and professional (she brought my cake out and tried to make best of frustration for some customers who probably had waited longer than me). All in all, good food but I won't be back because again it shouldn't take this long for food, especially considering the limited items...

The food was pretty good. The reason I gave it a 3 star is because the chicken wings I ordered were small and could have at least a more thicker & crustier batter on it. I’ve never eaten light bread with chicken, greens, & macaroni. Cornbread yes! There is only one register and one person taking orders. They definitely need another register with someone else taking orders. There is no reason to have a line to place orders and then having to wait over 30 minutes for chicken wings or etc..! The corridor of where the business is established is too busy for you to cook the food after the order is placed. You have a good stream of customers, so why not have the chicken and fish done especially during busy hours and days. Anyone certified in food management knows that they can have food kept at an allotted temperature at a decent amount of time before they have to discard it. How do you think Popeyes and KFC stay in business? You will lose your customers if these things aren’t rectified. The final thing is that the plasticware was like eating from a toddler’s toy dishes. Surely, you can find another supplier with more sturdy and adult sized plastic culinary ware for your customers to eat from. Sam’s wholesale has a fantastic line! I pray your business works out and you are successful for the future. I’m just being honest...
