Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Mansfield

Ok..real quick. Topic: Acai Bowls. Contenders: Mansfield Tropical Smoothie Cafe vs. Jamba Juice. I must say I was quite skeptical of tropical smoothie's acai bowl when I saw the young lady pull the pre-made base out of a freezer. HOWEVER (comma) it was quite delicious once all the toppings were applied. The consistency of the base was spoonable (made-up word #1), the fruit toppings were seemingly fresh and the granola was tasty and biteable (made-up word #2). Tropical Smoothie has been in Mansfield for years now, and although they struggle with smoothie consistency (which should not be worker dependent as I have addressed with their rolodex of managers over the last few years and I have requested they remake smoothies ad nauseam to achieve consistency...tangent over), BUT they're pre-made bowls seem to be fool-proof (no shade TSC..well maybe a little.)

Then there's Jamba Juice...I tried their acai bowl today and... I'll just say it's not a bowl. It is a decorated smoothie. The "bowl" toppings end up floating around in this soupy, non-spoonable, soup(?). The "granola" seemed to be simply quaker oats where if they did have some initial flavor or "bite", it immediately got soaked up by the soupiness. I don't know...I was disappointed, because Jamba, although new to Mansfield, are not brand new in the industry so I have no idea how this happened. I'm confusion on this issue, but what I do know, is that for now Tropical Smoothie Cafe has the better Acai Bowl and is Petty Foodie...

Awful customer service. Ordered online and still waited 20 minutes after my pick up time for food and drink. The two employees didn’t welcome anyone that walked in. A women walked into pick up order and she was missing a sandwich when she asked for it ( wasn’t rude or anything) the employee slammed a drink she was making on the counter walked to the back picked up a sandwich and handed it back to her. When the lady left the two employees talked about her loudly in front of the customers. While I was waiting I looked around and the employee looks at me, points and says your drink is right there it just needs to be blended… then proceeds to talk to her co-worker joking and laughing. I finally got my drink then she stares and me and says “ did you have food too?” I never gave an attitude or got rude. This girl was rude to every person who walked in, checked her order screen I don’t know how many times and I don’t know for what cause she clearly didn’t know the orders of the guests. I’ve been to this location before and have never been treated like this or seen customers get...

Let me start off by saying we ordered a catering order a day prior. We spent $200 on food/beverage. This is by no fault of the particular branch as it is an issue with corporate and their website. We were supposed to have an order ready by 12:15pm. A staff member went to pick up our order and was only given a fraction of our order. Went back up their and spoke with the manager. Mary Beth is wonderful. We talked and she explained how what is shown on the website is not what is shown on their ticket. They received an online order from 10am this morning and made it right away. Nowhere was it listed it was to be picked up by 12:15pm nor have our catering order (bulk of the cost). She apologized and got everything made right away. If you are going to cater, I highly suggest to call them once you have the order figured out and not online. The food is still great and we love the place. The customer service is well and they did what they needed to in order to make it right . Highly recommend...
