After speaking with the manager, I issue has been resolved and I wanted to update my review to reflect that. Really appreciate Courtney for listening to my concerns and being very understanding
We had our daughters 5th birthday party here. Let me start off by saying that our daughter and her friends had a great time overall.
There were, however, few important instances that are drawbacks and warrant the 3 star review.
When you have a party here, be aware that you only have 30 minutes to set up. Our hostess Selena definitely helped here, which made it possible, BUT that’s definitely a small window of time. It had to be efficient. So, lots of prep work needs to be done before setting up inside.
In the end, the setup was very cute.
Once the party started, we were off to the races and things started moving very quickly. It was so quick that our hostess completely missed a game that we brought for a kid to win a special prize. The problem here wasn’t just that we missed the game, but that I also reminded the staff about several times pre-party.
When it came to feeding the kids, and watching the cute little crumb-snatchers scream for cake and pizza, Selena did a great job making the announcement and herding the little ones. You could watch her moving swiftly from one area to another plus getting everyone to sing happy birthday, while packing everything up. It was a lot and she was on it.
However…. I think it is necessary to announce a 15 minutes remaining PSA right after the food considering you will be charged for staying after the 10 min grace period. It is important to note that we had to remind Selena to do this to avoid the charge.
Now, this is also where the 3 ⭐️ begins to come into play. We had some non-RSVP’d guests walk in literally 13 minutes prior to the party ending. I’ll write it again, 13 minutes and counting.
We’d already sang happy birthday, ate the pizza and devoured the cake before they came.
I asked Selena if they would be counted, which once you hit 25 people they add a large party fee of $100. She said yes, they’d have to charge us, which seemed exceptionally unfair given that conversation was happening between 12-10 minutes remaining in the party. However, the final count did come under 25, but that was because we ID’d a mistake of adding a 14 year old to the bill. The age cutoff is 12, which made me rethink if we hadn’t counted other older children as well.
All-in-all from this blunder we still ended up paying and additional $60 for the people who walked in with 13 minutes left.
That last part through me for a loop. So for all the great things about it, the rush and last second costs was a bit overwhelming. It’s making me rethink how willing I’d be to bring my next birthday for the...
Read moreIt’s always a great way to connect with my 4 yr old grandson and help to encourage imaginative play, while allowing him to be in charge of leading the story and theme of our day! As a preschool teacher myself, I find it hard to keep him focused at my house on age appropriate role play and activities. Play streets setting allows the child to be fully engulfed in leading the play areas, while learning, and staying engaged in the fully submerged world of a toddler! I’m literally there just to build upon his creative ideas and I let HIM set the stage for what HE wants to play! We have so much fun together at play street, and it has been a wonderful time to bond through creative and imaginative play.
My only suggestion would be to ask that you make it a No device environment inside the play area! Make the adults check their phones in at the counter, to make sure they are using your place as it is intended to be, a safe and enriching environment to focus solely on the minds and world of a preschooler!
My Best advice to the adults, you won’t get your monies worth if you don’t Get involved, and engage with your children! It’s a teachable moment kind of place, a way to show them the awesome world of using their OWN imagination but it doesn’t always come naturally for a preschooler. They need YOU to help foster that experience by role playing and having fun WITH them! You will be...
Read moreWonderful play place!! Just get a ticket and go—you won’t regret it. Perfect for a toddler and baby to play, and saved us on a day when preschool was closed and the weather was extreme. We were greeted by a genuinely friendly, caring employee up front. Everything is neatly arranged, bright, and feels so open, yet it has sooo many cool activities for kids we didn’t have at home (despite having our own full Montessori setup at home). Our 4 yo loved “fishing” in the little boat, sitting in the Jeep, climbing the leafy tower, and exploring each station in the little houses. We could’ve stayed for hours. The baby loved the table toys (lots of real music toys) and playing with blocks on the mat. We saw one other parent working and watching their kid play, so it can help you there too because it’s gated in and safe.
We can’t wait to come back and try out the pottery and other add-on items! You even get a snack on the way out, and they have organic options too which I loved. Their toy selection on the way out included some great items. We have found our new favorite place for the weekdays!!! Can’t wait to try the one in...
