Fresh Catch — Restaurant in Mansfield

The Fresh Catch restaurant in Mansfield was very very good food wise. The seafood platter that I had was awesome. It came complete with a fairly large fillet, both whole clams and clam strips, deep sea scallops and shrimp. It was also a good amount of onion rings and French fries. The seafood and onion rings were both lightly, golden fried. We did take home the highly touted carrot cake, do not waste your time on this bland, overly sweet dessert that taste nothing like carrot cake should. I rated the service 4 as our waitress also doubled as the barmaid. On a couple different occasions we had to wait for our waitress to come by. I didn't find the atmosphere very appealing as there wasn't really any ambiance to speak of. Also, when we walked in, they sat us right next to another table with two couples sitting at it when there were plenty of other empty tables in which to be seated. If they had sat us one table over; there would have been nobody on either side of us and would have afforded us more privacy. In restaurants for me, the food is the most important part in this food is awesome. Stick to the seafood and you won't go wrong. I would absolutely visit here again no questions asked. June 13, 2024 I just wanted to edit my previous review and change it to a five-star for the Fresh Catch in Mansfield. The food has been consistently excellent, especially if you like fried seafood. The Fresh Catch seafood is usually likely fried which is my favorite. I've also visited this establishment on a number of different occasions when the waitress (Candy) also doubles as the barmaid, but she has been on top of her game and very attentive. I often visit Fresh Catch around 11:30 when it initially opens. I bring a book and read in peace and quiet until my food is served. Fresh Catch Seafood Restaurant in Mansfield has been my go-to dining destination since 2003, and today's experience only solidified why I keep coming back. Just a few hours ago, I ordered takeout, and I can't express my gratitude enough for the exceptional service I received.

One of the orders was three colossal shrimp, and the restaurant preparing the shrimp on ice to keep it as fresh as possible for the ride home. Little did I know that the warm late-October weather, with temperatures soaring into the high 70s during the day and the warm temperature in my car would put this preparation to the test.

As I made my way home, the ice inevitably melted, causing the paper bag to become quite soggy. When I lifted the bag, the weight of all the food caused the bag to tear open, spilling all of the orders in the bag onto the street. However, this is where Fresh Catch truly shone.

I called the restaurant to explain the situation. Without hesitation, they promised to remake my order and have it ready for pick-up in just 16 minutes. This level of dedication and promptness is truly remarkable.

Fresh Catch not only saved my family's Saturday at-home dinner but also left us with an excellent example of outstanding customer service.

What an amazing time we had!! My 89 year old mother, my wife and i. we all ordered seafood platter’s and shared a 1 1/2 pound of steamer’s with an ear of corn. When I tell you that this was the most amazing seafood platter I’ve ever had in my 63yrs on this earth, and “I’ve had my share of seafood platter’s”, I’m not joking. The steamer’s were the freshest and so succulent I’ve ever had. The scollops were so tender and succulent, I forgot I put one in my mouth, let’s not forget the largest shrimp I’ve ever had on any seafood platter, and the crispy, crunchy fish and onion rings didn’t take a back seat to none of it. our beverage for the ladies were 2 Berry Martinis, and my ice cold IPA was also amazing. That was the coldest beer I’ve ever had in a restaurant, period. That’s the way beer is supposed to be served. Our amazing waitress Candy made sure our time there was a great experience, she was on top of her game, alway’s making sure we had the things we needed to make our experience top notch. Great Job Candy, we appreciate you. The Chef’s in the kitchen who never get recognized, cooked our food to perfection, and the presentation was eye popping. I actually believe the Chef’s care about the food they put out, and you usually don’t see that. Great job Chef’s, keep up the good work. Our waitress Candy told us the restaurant has been there for 40 years. I might be late to the game, but I’m here now.
