The ambiance was very eclectic, sort of an odd decorating theme, and the seating is limited, but overall, it's cute and cozy. The prices are very affordable. The check came out to 37 bucks for two meals, two sides and two coffees. The service staff are pleasant and attentive. We ordered the blueberry-stuffed french toast, corned beef hash, a short stack of regular french toast, and some sausage. Now, we are both chef's, so keep in mind that our palletes are a little more discerning. Stuffed french toast is something I love to see on a breakfast menu, but I usually am disappointed by, because most places use an overly-sweetened cream cheese and frozen blueberries. I was pleased to find that they used fresh blueberries and the cream cheese didn't taste like frosting. The stuffing was quite good, and the french toast itself was good, though a little overcooked and crunchy (the stuffing made up for it). The regular french toast was lacking in flavor, like the custard was just a plain, milky eggwash, edible but boring. The sausage links were quite good. The corned beef hash, while homemade, which is usually a plus, was completely overpowered by cumin. So much cumin that it should be called "homemade taco-flavored corned beef hash." The thing people love about corned beef is the taste of salty, cured beef and potatoes. That flavor was entirely overwhelmed by a shocking punch of way too much cumin. I felt like I was just eating a plate of taco-seasoned meat. Unfortunately, I had a few bites of that last, so now all my burps taste like tacos, instead of blueberries. 🫤 All in all, it's worth going if you don't want to spend too much, and you order...
Read moreI visited Pushkart Cafe on a weekday morning with my mother. She loves the large selection of gluten-free options and was excited to show me this new spot. I felt really comfortable inside and was happy to witness some local banter. We were promptly seated, greeted, and helped by Janae who could not have been more accommodating! Mom prefers her breakfast just so and I needed a little guidance but Janae kept right up. I ordered the Pushkart Panini and a grilled Birthday Cake Muffin. After sipping on a black iced coffee of unusually good quality, I tucked into my sandwich. MUCH self-censorship was necessary during its consumption. It was PERFECTLY balanced. Nestled inside two perfectly grilled pieces of multigrain bread, you get egg, bacon, spinach, apple, and Brie. All of the ingredients were notably fresh (I know my Brie) and complimented each other quite nicely. The natural bitterness of the spinach and brie is brought into frame by the sweetness and acidity of the Granny Smith apple slice. All of this flair gets translated into familiar deliciousness by the umami staple of bacon and egg. As an aside, driving to get to those home fries should be an acceptable excuse for speeding. Last but not least, the muffin... I get a lot of guff for being a birthday/party cake flavor lover but I know what's good and what isn't. Whoever makes these should be on commission. There's real love in those muffins and that's real important to a guy like me. Everyone at Pushkart Cafe should be proud of what they do. They've certainly won a repeat...
Read moreWas there on September 10 2022 around 9:40. Highly recommended. I was waking up from a stressful evening the day before and was looking for a nice place to have breakfast. Found this very charming little cafe. A minute after entering I fell in love with the place! The decoration, the people. It was like a little "time pocket" where everything felt right in this world and gave me faith in humanity. There was good music, a regular showing pictures of his baby to the waitress, customers at the counter, everyone just relaxed and enjoying their meal. Very comforting place to "wake up". Service was perfect, very friendly waitress. The meal itself was cooked exactly as ordered, eggs and potatoes were delicious and the fruit fresh. Even the restroom was charming with nice little paintings adding color to the place. It felt like destiny when I came face to face with a picture on the wall saying "Enjoy the ride" (was worried about a very long drive home I had to make after this). To me, the short time I spent there was a prime example of the "American spirit", friendly laid back people, simplicity, enjoying life and taking pride in being excellent to each other. Can't recommend more.
This will be my go-to for breakfast if I come back to Mansfield!
Thanks to everyone in the kitchen and the staff on the floor, you made my day.
Bless you in all your endeavors. You got something good going!
