Pizza Mike's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Mansfield

A little backstory, grew up around the UConn campus. There have been pizza staples that have remained within driving distance to campus. Pizza Mike's was a favorite in recent years with my folks. Recent visit to Storrs prompted a late last minute decision to purchase a pizza close to home. I looked up the menu on the internet for pricing and varieties. I ordered a small Margherita pizza. I ended up waiting the 20 minutes inside. The internet pricing is incorrect and was not honored even after showing the menu to the staff. It was about 20% higher. Once home, I found the pizza way over salted, almost inedible. The crust and texture pretty meh. Honestly, a big step below say California Pizza Kitchen frozen. I read online how great the service and the food was, so I decided to give them a try for my daughter's birthday. Frustrated with the fact that I couldn't get a cake delivered to the UConn campus, I decided to send pizza's and called Pizza Mikes. Dave, one of the owners (and brother of Mike) was more than accommodating. He was a pleasure to deal with and bent over backwards to get things together that would make my daughters birthday a success. The are in a gas station with a Dunkin Donuts, so he offered to bring the donuts in lieu of cake. He told me after he delivered everything that he actually went to the Dollar Store and brought her a balloon, too! I would highly recommend them...

So I dropped my daughter off at UCONN today first day I've ever stepped foot in that area and I was hungry on the ride home so I tell the hubby let's just stop n get a DnD sandwich well low n behold we walk in and there's a pizza shop, now I'm Italian n I LOVE pizza so of course I go for pizza instead of DnD I'm SOOOOOOO BEYOND happy that I did because this pizza is amazing and the owners are just as amazing along with the staff I will be sending my daughter random pizzas from them all the time THANK YOU SO MUCH AND KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK I can't wait to see what you guys are going to add to your menu in...
