Why hasn't the owner/management responded to MY REVIEW?? Could it be bc it was the only NEGATIVE review? They have responded to ALL the GOOD reviews... I have now changed to a ONE star bc of that and WILL NOT GIVE STEVIE D'S A SECOND CHANCE DUE TO BAD MANAGEMENT.

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM TWO MONTHS AGO... We have been looking for a quality cheesesteak place since Donnie's on Matlock moved to North Arlington and well... we're still looking. I wish I could say that Stevie D's was amazing quality, tasty and fresh but it definitely didn't hit the mark on our first visit, that's for sure.

First problem... we ordered six sandwiches with only two having onions and of those two, only one having peppers and mushrooms. The other four were meat and cheese only... at least that's what we ordered. Also, we didn't call the order in, we did it online, so everything was perfect on the order and couldn't be "misheard"... unfortunately, ALL OUR SANDWICHES had ONIONS on them, and I only caught TWO of them when we got home so when I went back up to get those two replaced, I got home to find out from my kids that theirs had the onions hidden under the meat in the cheese, so I didn't see it. So, after almost 90 minutes, total from first order, I was just done... so I went to picking all the onions from the two sandwiches so my kids would eat them. Ugh!!!

Second problem... I'm sorry, but the cheesesteak sandwiches were dry, VERY bland (with NO SEASONING at all) and overly mushy. They are pretty much the same thing as a Subway cheesesteak... no difference except the Subway is actually longer, seasoned and the bread is toasty.

Third problem... The fries we ordered were just floppy, mushy and VERY bland (again, NO SEASONING at all). There's not much more I can say about that, you can't really screw up fries but these just weren't great, just okay. Somebody who likes crispy, salty fries would be EXTREMELY disappointed.

SO... based on this experience, right now we are giving Stevie D's Cheesesteak TWO STARS as this experience was extremely lacking and we disliked it, at this time... we didn't HATE it, but given the overall, I couldn't say it was a three star experience.

Now, I'm not going to write Stevie D's off quit yet... we ordered our food take out and did everything online... so perhaps we missed out of something integral by not ordering and eating in store... I mean, let's face it, some places are just meant to be eaten IN THE RESTAURANT and this might be one of them. Donnie's cheesesteaks were just fine taking home, but that's ALL they did was take out, they didn't even have tables there, just chairs to wait. SO... RIGHT NOW I have given Stevie D's Cheesesteak two stars, UNTIL we try them ONE MORE time... and then I will grade them accordingly. So the next time we have them, we will be eating IN THE RESTAURANT and I will grade them on three things: 1. Order time & accuracy 2. Taste (seasoning, etc.) AND 3. overall quality (mushy bread, floppy...

In response to owner comment.

Remember as I stated I left a message the same night the issue happen with my meal. You fail to contact me on the issue. That right you do not respond to you voice mail on your company phone stated by your employee. YOU fail to return my call on my issue. So indicating 2 week you had enough time to return my call concerning my issue. So do not indicate this issue was my fault. Your bad customer service cause this issue. So I had to come to company and indicate my concerns because you fail to respond to call and my voice mail concerning my issue.

I visited Stevie D’s close to their closing time and ordered a meal. By the time I made it home to eat, I noticed that it was incorrect. As soon as I noticed my meal was incorrect I called the store to inform them; however, they did not answer I am assuming because they were closed. I left a message on their voicemail indicating my concerns. The company never returned my call so decided to go to Stevie D's to express my concerns about my meal and I asked them to replace my meal. The clerk at the counter called the manager and explained the situation; however, the manager told him the meal was not going to be replaced. I informed the clerk that l left message concerning the meal and he told me “we don't listen to the answering machine so we wouldn’t know if you called”. He then stated the manager said, “We are not going to replace your meal because you did not call back”. I told him no one called me back and he said you should have called back the next day because we don't listen the answering machine. I said WOW then why do have an answering machine on the company line that you don't listen to? So if you have an issue with the company or your food, do not expect a return call because they do not have a customer service line to address issues. Note: If you are looking for a great Philly Cheese and great service, take trip to the The Philly Cheesesteak Factory located at 3261 FM663 Suite B, Midlothian, TX 76065 (10 miles from...

11-4-23 11am Honest objective review. First time here at Stevie D. Came here for brunch. New to the area originally from South Florida. That said the Philly Cheese steak here had a very good 8/10 flavor but it was a bit soggy to the point that much of the meat was falling out the bottom of the roll. I had to get a fork.

They don't offer Swiss or Pepper Jack cheese.🥺 White American Cheese and Provelone are the only options. Provelone is the classic standard on a Philly but it's $2 extra here.😡 Furthermore, in all the different independent and chain sub shops I've been to, cheese substitutions are never extra and other toppings are never an additional charge. I was was also charged $.75 cents extra for tomatoes.

Typically in South Florida the menu price for a similar 12" mushroom/onion Philly is between $10 and $13 with no additional charge for cheese substitutions and free tomatoes, lettuce, banana peppers etc toppings. My 12" mushroom Philly with provelone and tomatoes but without fries or drink before tax was $15.99. Honestly, I was a bit taken by the price. My total price with tax and a tip was $19.71

Restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. Staff was friendly.

I'm 58yo and I love Philly Cheesesteak subs. I have them once or twice month or probably 600-700 times in my adult life.

I'm gonna try other Philly shops in the area as well.

I will try them again some time but for the price I paid here without fries or a drink, there are many other options...

Saw this place driving back from Mansfield and told the wife we have to try them out since we're both cheesesteak sandwich fans. Well...I just went there today and all I'm gonna say is "I'll be coming back!" Ignore the reviewers who are supposed sandwich "connoisseurs". Go and give them a try and please make sure your "cup is empty"(hope you understand this metaphor). The pricing is totally fair for the amount of food you get, their dining area is clean, neat, warm and inviting. Their staff was wonderful too. So what did we have to eat? Well we had the Texas Southwestern Philly(ribeye steak is used for all their sandwiches) and the Philly fries(real homemade fries btw, not frozen! BIG PLUS!). Neither of these menu items disappointed and we couldn't finish either in one sitting. What does that tell you for $18 spent. Our meal was so good, we went back in and bought another TX Southwestern for our son who was at home. Four thumbs up for Stevie's 👍👍👍👍. It's these American small family owned businesses that deliver quality and service that we should be supporting.
