I’m just so confused! Caribou used to have so many options for vegetarians, impossible sandwiches, egg bites, etc. They now have one egg bite option and it’s bacon. Egg bites, are not a sandwich. May seem obvious but I’ll wrap around later. I asked if they still had other options and the person working said “Yes we have spinach!” Well, by golly I’m in luck!! I said “Oh it’s just not on the menu?” and she said, “No, it’s right next to the bacon egg bites!” The spinach thing listed next to the egg bites is, unfortunately, a sandwich. I again explained I wanted egg bites but don’t eat bacon. I asked what happened to the other ones they used to have and she said they’ve been discontinued. I then asked if they had the Impossible sandwich anymore, as that’s what I used to get, and a different worker behind the counter popped in to tell me the egg/tomato flatbread they have is fully plant based. Amazing! But sadly still not the question I asked! I settled on the flatbread option since it’s literally the only non-meat breakfast option now. The person behind the counter that helped initially (pointed out the sandwich when I asked about an egg bite) actually stared at me the whole time I ate. I kept looking up to find my admirer not breaking eye contact. If you want my number just say that! The sandwich was sadly sloppy and oily, and tomato and pesto oils were dripping all down my arm. I had to go have a goblin-style rinse in the bathroom sink. Should maybe come on a plate with a fork instead of in a bag?
Vegans, though I’m not one, are (frightfully!) on the rise and Caribou decides it’s the time to eliminate all but one of their meat-free options? And kept the slipperiest and mushiest (moist? can I say moist?) one on the menu!?
An additional note : Maybe I haven’t been fully inside a Caribou in too long - but we sat down to eat and then booth was fully shredded apart. Like, spaces of open, dirty foam the size of my rear end along the whole benches. Sadly not too comfortable to hang out in while I ate my oil spill.
This was just really an unfortunate...
Read moreGreat service at this location, one of the best of the Caribou's, good coffee, good Bruegger's food -- but not a good place for the laptop crowd, as there are very few electrical outlets available -- only for the booths, none for the tables. This is surprising, since this is one of the newer Caribou / Bruegger stores. They have one very large table, a "counter-level" style table (higher than a normal table, that you'd use barstool type chairs for), that could easily hold six to eight places; and a long (and higher) counter next to the pick-up station. When I have been in there, I have seen only six high barstool type chairs in the entire store of varying height -- the higher ones are TOO high for the table, little room between the chair seat and the table, and the lower ones are too low for the counter. They always seem to be mixed together when I go in, and it looks like they couldn't afford to buy stools/chairs for both, so they get pulled around by customers. It's just rather odd. But if you're just going to eat / drink / socialize, and not work on a laptop, it's...
Read moreAs a seasoned regular at this coffee shop I have seen the beautiful impact this team of dedicated employees has made. Not only do they make my morning brighter, they gave this store a great sense of community and soul. Seeing 4 incredibly talented employees leave in such haste has made me extremely disappointed in the management held responsible. The complete disrespect and inhumanity shown to your employees leaves me disgusted with the company as a whole. Caribou was blessed with an A+ team that supplied continuous achievements and growth. It’s laughable how they think this store will ever be the same. Caribou Coffee is no longer worth my...
