I should have checked reviews before I wasted half an hour to get to the order screen only to be told they couldn't fulfill my online order. I was then told to pull around, I thought because it was hard to hear through the speaker and that they would work something out for me so I could at least get maybe a red beans and rice or a fry or something from my order. I got yelled at and asked what I was doing when I pulled up to the window. I asked if I could at least get one of the sides I had already paid for in the app since they didn't have chicken and I got "for free?!" yelled at me as a response... I had, as I've said, already paid for a pretty large order in the app that they would not fulfill even partially. I then asked if I could order and pay with cash then because I was very hungry and I got denied and yelled at again. I asked for a name to complain to corporate about because the treatment was absolutely uncalled for and unnecessary and he yelled back, "Jay! That's J-A-Y. Need me to spell it for ya?!" I honestly have never had another experience similar to this anywhere I've ever tried to eat. I paid for a bunch of food, couldn't get any of it, I'm still polite, and the (I think) manager is yelling at me. It's just unbelievable. But, apparently this is par for the course at this Popeyes. It's a shame because I love Popeyes normally and this location is on my way home from work, but I will never try to eat here again. If you're smart enough to read reviews before visiting, believe them and go somewhere else. You'll save yourself time and avoid a very...
Read moreWe placed our order online at 12:22 and arrived about ten minutes later, which the team members acknowledged when we got there. Despite that, we didn’t receive our food until 12:55. It wasn’t that the chicken wasn’t ready—they eventually just slapped it on the buns like it had been sitting there the whole time. One employee in particular stood out—not in a good way. She was moving painfully slow, wearing fur boots (which I question as ServSafe compliant or even hygienic), and showed no urgency at all despite clearly being aware of our presence. Her coworker repeatedly asked her to help with things, and it was puzzling—if she’s comfortable enough with the team, why does she need to be told to do her job?
To be fair, most of the crew seemed more interested in laughing and playing around than actually working. I’ve worked in food service and fast food, and back then, we worked. This was just another disappointing example of a growing trend—workers who don’t seem to care about the job, the customers, or the standards of the business. On top of that, there was a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the employees. The fries were soggy and tasted like they came from oil that hadn’t been changed in way too long.
To the employees: I know life is hard. I know work can suck. I know you’re not getting paid what you deserve. But please—take just a little pride in what you do. You’re not just handing out food; you’re serving people. Try to connect. Try to care. It really does make a difference, for others and...
Read moreFOOD: The food was very good - We love Popeyes but hadn't had one nearby until my son moved to Cleveland area (I was visiting him). We were not disappointed with the meal! The new strawberry biscuits were great and we hope these stay on the menu as a regular item!
SERVICE: This was my first time at this Popeyes. Drive through line long but moving well. I decided to go ahead and put in mobile/on-line order while I was in line. When I got to the window, I was told I had to go inside to pickup on-line order. I don't understand this as order was already in by time I got to the order speaker. I still had to wait in the line for cars ahead of me to pull around to front. Panera bread, Wendy's, McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc. all do mobile/online orders and you can pickup through the drive thru. This need to go inside and then wait some more is not good service to me, although the staff member in charge of the strawberry biscuits gave me a bonus biscuit for the wait. I am almost 60 years old with bad knees, so the drive thru is a great help. Please look at this situation and see what you can do to fix it at this locations and others if this is the norm. I was told at drive thru that this was the policy, but that doesn't seem to make sense as when you put in mobile order, you need to indicate how you are picking up and the drive thru is one of...
