Burger Buds — Restaurant in Maple Valley

I’ve been here multiple times and ordered the same item, and every single experience has been equally terrible…

The first time I came, we waited over 40 minutes for two burgers we placed online ahead of time. The app told us our order was ready, but when we arrived they said “10 more minutes” and gave us a buzzer. While waiting, I overheard a young women who could have been a manager (gave out the orders at the window) yelling at employees not to make the food until the customer shows up, even though online orders mark as “ready.” That gave me the impression they don’t actually start cooking until you’re there to pick up your order , which makes the “ready for pickup” notification completely pointless. I let it slide that first time because I was just eavesdropping and speculating.

Another visit, I asked the wait time before I decided to order, and was told 15 minutes. An hour later, I finally got my food. I don’t want to sit in the parking lot behind a smelly gas station for over a hour each time I get food from this place, that’s ridiculous.

Every time my partner orders a Coke, they never put it in the bag or hand it to us. We always have to remind them. At this point, it feels intentional….

My partner even left a review before, posting a picture of his chicken tenders that were basically a rip off, small tiny pieces. We waited 40+ minutes for cold fries and tiny pieces of chicken.

We don’t even bother with delivery because they always forget the sauces we pay for. Again, makes you wonder if it’s intentional, like the Coke situation.

And today is the last straw. I ordered the Wenatchee burger like I always do, and it had no blue cheese and no sauce!!!! What am I supposed to do, drive all the way back in the middle of my family’s dinner just to prove it? It’s insane!! I’ve given this place plenty of chances, and every time has been a mistake. I’d rather drive 40 minutes out of my way than deal with this again. Never coming back.

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from work, expecting it would be a rather quick option for food after a long day. We were wrong! It took around an hour for our food to be prepared and when we went to eat it, it was ice cold! We could tell there is massive potential for this to be the best burgers in our town, but they have some big decisions to make.

The most important thing I would note to the owner here is that it seems premature to be taking DoorDash orders. I would suggest holding off on that until your in-person patrons are properly cared for. I can understand the desire to reach a larger audience, but if your in-person patrons aren’t even receiving fresh food, I cannot imagine what the quality of delivered food must be 🥴

I realize this is a new location and there are always kinks to be ironed out, that is why I will be waiting to visit here again until those kinks have hopefully been mitigated. Again, I see true potential for this business, I just believe they may have bitten off more than they could chew by taking DoorDash orders at this time.

I wish this business the very best of luck, as it is truly difficult to keep something like this afloat (my parents owned several restaurants when I was growing up, so I’ve seen it firsthand). I’m going to give these guys some time to reconcile their issues and look forward to being more impressed upon my future visit…(and I look forward to changing my...

My expectations were too high and this place is a victim of their own success. Food was good but not great - a bit too salty. I didn’t think $15 for one burger was good value here especially after a 1 hour 10 minute wait.

Let me give more details. I ordered online at 6:01pm and the estimate was 7:10pm. I thought there was no way it would take that long. I got my kids some food and they ate on the way there. I showed up at 6:30pm and there was no one ordering with two people waiting around. I walked up to the order window and asked when my order would be done, and the girl was not convinced it would be done in less than an hour, which surprised me. She then went and asked someone and they said they could get it done sooner and gave me a pager to come back. Well, I waited until 7:09 and it finally went off. I don’t think I’ve waited that long for a meal in the more than a year. The workers were really nice at least!

I want to give this place a chance again sometime, but it’ll be hard to get over a bad experience.

So if you still want to try this place out, order ahead with at least an hour before you are hungry or check their estimate because at least that seemed accurate.
