Terry's Old Fashion Ice Cream Shop — Restaurant in Marblehead

How is this place even open still? I went in for ice cream with my son he is 6 years old mind you. Second I came in I was met with a loud sigh from the old man behind the counter. As if me coming into an ice cream shop to buy ice cream with my son is bothering you? I ignored this and continued to look at the menu. As I’m trying to figure out what to order for my son the old man says loudly “you guys gonna order or what?” I told him we’re gonna need a second and he says “yeah always the same with you people.” . What did you mean by you people? For you to raise your voice at me and scare my son because we didn’t know what we wanted from the menu fast enough is just plain wrong. For starters there was barely anyone in there to justify rushing us. Never in my life have I felt so disgusted by another human being. He must be the owner or related to the owners to get away with such gross behavior. How are you that stressed at an ice cream shop to the point you say such horrid things? There’s actual hard working people out there and you’re just a miserable, lonely, old ice cream scooper…pathetic id expect more from your generation but your apathetic work ethic single handily bring shame to all. I took it upon myself to search through the reviews and it’s alarming how many people have experienced the same thing. These people are cheating this community of their hard earned money by self tipping themselves? The fact that we the community of Marblehead just sit there and take this is sad. These people don’t even have the ability to take accountability for their actions and continue to scam hard working individuals of their money and dignity. We have to do better people. Never...

Very bad experience tonight and I never leave reviews but I am very disappointed with the service I received. I ordered a vanilla soft serve with hot fudge and whipped cream, and the man making my ice-cream began putting nuts on top. I quickly spoke up and was like “Oh, I didn’t want nuts on that!” , and instead of just starting over he began to argue with me that I definitely said nuts (which I didn’t, I hate nuts), and was super rude. Then he starting snapping at me and my sister to grab him a spoon, grabs the spoon from the end you eat with with his bare hands, and starts trying to scrape the nuts off of it to give it to me. Then he looks at me, asks if I’m allergic to nuts, and I said yes because I didn’t want this now mangled icecream that he used his dirty spoon on. He starts getting cranky and saying I should have told him that I’m the first place, and I said well I didn’t ask for nuts in the first place. It could have been as simple as just remaking it. Terry’s Old-Fashioned Ice Cream This place is old-fashioned alright and not the good kind. I asked the employee a question about the soft serve flavors and after he answered he asked me which flavors. I said i haven’t decided yet and then I noticed what they were playing on the speaker and I turn my head and look over to my boyfriend and I said “Are they playing Abbot Elementary?”. The employee says “Look at me.” ???? Mind you there was no line and it was not busy at all. My boyfriend tells him not to be disrespectful and the employee just doubled down crazy and then started mocking me and exaggerating and he started to reach over the counter to point at me. I stayed in the same place the whole time. At first, I thought this place didn’t take kindly to ‘people like me’ but after looking at some reviews of this place on Yelp and Google, its just clear that none of the employees like being there and are rude and like to tip themselves.
